No One Becomes A Politician To Bantu Rakyat

DAP and PKR would never have done a deal with Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad in one million years if it is about “bantu rakyat”. DAP, PKR and Umno would never even sit at the same table let alone sleep in the same bed (to quote the late Karpal Singh) if it is about “bantu rakyat”. No lah, it’s all about power and wealth. “Apa guna darurat jika tak mampu bantu rakyat?” asked Umno Youth Leader Asyraf Wajdi Dasuki (SEE BELOW).
Politicians should just stop talking about “bantu rakyat”. It sounds so lame and hollow. Nobody becomes a politician to “bantu rakyat”. Anyone who becomes a politician to “bantu rakyat” should not be trusted because this means that person is a stupid person and stupid people should not be trusted to run the country.
Clever people become politicians to gain power and wealth. And if that person is able to gain power and wealth, that means that person is clever. And only clever people should be trusted to run the country.
Tunku Abdul Rahman, Dr Tan Chee Khoon, Lee Lam Thye, Ustaz Fadzil Muhammad Noor, Burhanuddin al-Helmy, and all those other “giants” of Malaysian politics became politicians to “bantu rakyat”. What happened to all these people in the end? No doubt the Tunku became prime minister, but he was very wealthy before he became a politician and retired broke.
Of course, politicians cannot admit they become politicians to gain power and wealth. They need to pretend they become politicians to “bantu rakyat”. But no need to say that 25 times a day lah. Say it once in a while, cukuplah. Say it just to make it sound nice, not keep saying it sampai orang meluat.
If they really want to “bantu rakyat” they would volunteer to work in a refugee camp somewhere in the world or volunteer in one of the Covid-19 vaccination centres. Refugee camps and Covid-19 vaccination centres need help, plenty of help. Volunteer di situlah untuk “bantu rakyat”.
But of course, volunteering to work in a refugee camp somewhere in the world or volunteering in one of the Covid-19 vaccination centres will not help you gain power and wealth. So they become politicians instead.
Do you think these people are talking about PKR, DAP, Amanah and Umno forming an alliance to topple the Prime Minister and the Government to “bantu rakyat”? No way lah! It’s about power and wealth (and, for some, to do a deal to stay out of jail).

Apa guna darurat jika tak mampu bantu rakyat – Asyraf Dalam tempoh sebulan setengah berbaki sebelum darurat tamat, kerajaan digesa memanfaatkan Ordinan Darurat untuk kepentingan rakyat.
Ia termasuk mengarahkan bank menawarkan moratorium tanpa caj atau faedah tambahan kepada semua golongan termasuk M40, memberi rakyat akses kepada i-Sinar dan i-Lestari 2.0 serta mengawal harga barang keperluan asas yang naik mendadak ketika pandemik.
Ketua Pemuda UMNO, Datuk Asyraf Wajdi Dasuki berkata, apa guna darurat jika tak dapat bantu rakyat.
Sebelum ini Pemuda UMNO berpendirian tidak ada keperluan darurat diteruskan selepas 1 Ogos ini kerana pelaksanaannya lebih memudaratkan negara sedangkan jelas tidak berkesan untuk menurunkan kes Covid-19 kepada sekurang-kurangnya dua angka.
Ketika ini banyak pihak yang mempersoalkan kewajaran darurat diteruskan selepas 1 Ogos.
Asyraf berkata, apabila kali pertama pada 23 Oktober 2020 kerajaan mencadangkan darurat, Yang di-Pertuan Agong menolaknya setelah diadakan Perjumpaan Khas antara Yang di-Pertuan Agong bersama Raja-Raja Melayu pada Ahad, 25 Oktober.
Bagaimanapun, Yang di-Pertuan Agong perkenan cadangan darurat selepas kali kedua dicadangkan oleh kerajaan pada 12 Januari 2021.
Berhubung apakah kewajaran untuk Darurat yang bakal berakhir 1 Ogos 2021 ini diteruskan ataupun tidak, Asyraf berkata, satu Perjumpaan Khas Majlis Raja-Raja akan diadakan 16 Jun ini, antara lain bagi membincangkan isu Covid-19 ini.
