Pemenang Anugerah All Suite Resort, The Haven Resort Ipoh mempersembahkan The Haven Musical Extravaganza hasil kerjasama Selangor Symphony Orchestra dan disokongi oleh Kementerian Pelancongan, Kesenian & Kebudayaan (MOTAC). Persembahan tersebut akan diadakan selama tiga malam; pada 27hb, 28hb dan 29hb Oktober 2022. Tetamu dan peminat muzik boleh menantikan penginapan mewah di samping malam muzikal dan gastronomi di persekitaran resort yang indah.







Ini merupakan pengalaman 'Sensurround' yang pertama seumpamanya. Tetamu resort dapat membuat pilihan untuk menikmati konsert sama ada di taman di tepi tasik, Amfiteater atau dari balkoni yang selesa di unit bilik mereka melalui pakej muzik istimewa yang telah disediakan. Alunan musik dari tasik menjadi lebih istimewa dengan kedudukan strategik pemuzik di sekitar resort, pinggir hutan dan di setiap aras ketiga-tiga blok.


Konsert tersebut akan dipersembahkan oleh konduktor Eugene Pook, mezzo-soprano Jiayao Sun, pemain biola antarabangsa Dr. Hyungi Kim dan penyanyi Asyraf Farhan Adi Zairi dari Malaysia. Karya dari The Sound of Music, Phantom of the Opera, dan Kitaro, serta karya Selangor Symphony Orchestra akan ditampilkan dalam program ini. Kesemua persembahan akan bermula tepat pada jam 8:00 malam.





Peter Chan, Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif The Haven All Suite Resort, berkata, “Selepas berehat daripada pandemik, kami ingin sambung kembali industri pelancongan. Apakah lagi cara yang lebih baik kalau bukan menyediakan percutian hujung minggu ke The Haven Resort di Ipoh dengan persembahan muzikal ekstravaganza yang indah? 


Tetamu yang menginap bersama kami akan diberikan pengalaman konsert musik yang unik dan pertama seumpamanya dengan alunan muzik dari pentas terapung di tasik yang dilengkapi dengan alam semula jadi hutan di sekelilingnya.


Beliau menambah, “Diinspirasikan oleh Festival Muzik Tahunan Hutan Hujan Sarawak; kami percaya The Haven Musical Extravaganza berpotensi untuk menjadi acara tahunan yang paling menarik dan dijadikan tarikan penting untuk negeri Perak. Kami berharap pertunjukan muzikal ini akan menjadi pemangkin kepada banyak lagi acara yang akan mempromosikan Ipoh sebagai Bandar Batu Kapur, Muzik dan Kesenian.”





Dato' Rumaizi bin Baharin@Md Daud, Datuk Bandar Ipoh, berkata, “Sudah tiba masanya untuk The Haven memperkenalkan Muzikal Extravaganza di Ipoh. Usaha memperkenalkan muzikal ekstravaganza ini sememangnya kreatif dan dialu-alukan oleh Kerajaan Negeri Perak yang sedang berikhtiar untuk mempromosi Ipoh sebagai Bandar Batu Kapur, Muzik dan Kesenian Asia. Sokongan sektor swasta, terutamanya dalam usaha mereka untuk mempromosikan Ipoh sebagai destinasi pelancongan utama amat dihargai khususnya untuk pelancong tempatan dan asing.”


Katanya lagi, “Setelah wabak ini beransur-ansur hilang, Ipoh dijadualkan terus menjadi perhatian serta pilihan percutian yang indah untuk para pelancong. Dengan kesan pandemik selama 2 ½ tahun, ia tidak melemahkan semangat The Haven untuk memulih serta memastikan kemajuan Bandaraya Ipoh lebih hebat lagi.”

Mr Peter Chan
Chief Executive Officer
 








Mr. Peter Chan is the Chief Executive Officer of Haven Sdn Bhd and Superboom Sdn Bhd projects, the holding company of the Haven Group of Companies.
His career began with the development and management of Permai Lake View Apartments, which later brought success to The Haven Group of Companies and completed the construction of its flagship on the shores of The Haven lakeside. The residence has received a lot of publicity and has become a guarantee of quality and affordable prices for a five-star resort. Under his leadership, the Group has also been awarded national, regional and international awards including the Minister’s Award, Brand of the Year, Property Man of the Year (CEO), Asia’s Best Resort Residences, Best Resort and Hotel Project. Peter graduated from the University of Singapore and holds a Bachelor of Business degree (with honours) and an Advanced Management Program at INSEAD, University in France.  




Eugene Pook

Currently Music Director & Conductor of the Selangor Symphony Orchestra, Eugene Pook has made guest conducting appearances with professional orchestras such as the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra, Shanghai Symphony Orchestra, Henan Symphony Orchestra, Xiamen Philharmonic Orchestra, Hong Kong Chamber Orchestra, Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra, Pleven Philharmonic, and others.




Eugene currently also holds position of Founder and Executive Director of the Ipoh Music Festival, Co-Founder and Music Director of PSPA International Ensemble, and has formerly held position as Founder, Music Director & Conductor of the Kinta Valley Wind Orchestra, and Co-Director of the Encounter Training Ensemble of the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra.
 
Eugene Pook’s selfless contribution to the music industry has benefited youths and communities of all races and backgrounds in his beloved country Malaysia and around the world; in 2012, he was awarded the 10 Outstanding Young Malaysians Award for his cultural contributions and achievements in Malaysia.

Eugene believes in giving back to the society and has performed in charity concerts to raise funds for the Alzheimer Disease Foundation Malaysia (2009, 2014), Jeffrey Cheah Foundation (2016, 2015, 2013, 2011), Dementia Society Ipoh (2017), National Stroke Association Malaysia (2018), Make-A-Wish-Malaysia (2016 & 2019), Assunta Palliative Care Center in Petaling Jaya (2014),  Perak Palliative Care Society (2014).

In addition to conducting, Eugene Pook is also a professional clarinet performer and instructor. His clarinet recitals have been much sought after and performed at prestigious venues such as the Carnegie Hall in New York City, the Malaysia Embassy (Washington DC, USA), and the European Union Embassy (Washington DC, USA).  His clarinet mentors include Harold Gomez, Jane Carl, and Kenneth Grant.  Eugene was a winner of the Concerto Competition of at the University of Missouri-Kansas City (USA) where he performed Copland's Clarinet Concerto with the University's orchestra, and has performed with the American Wind Symphony Orchestra, Eastman Wind Ensemble, Kansas City Philharmonic, Northland Symphony Orchestra, and others.
 
Eugene Pook studied at the Royal Conservatory of Music (Canada), University of Missouri – Kansas City (U.S.A), and the Eastman School of Music (U.S.A). Eugene was born in Ipoh, Malaysia, and is currently on Board of Trustee of Alzheimer Disease Foundation Malaysia.




Ms. Jiayao Sun,Mezzo-Soprano


Jiayao Sun earned her Bachelor of Music degree in Voice at Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music, where she studied with Professor Alan Bennett. She was awarded a full scholarship to study full time at the National University of Singapore for four years.


In 2018, Jiayao earned her Master of Music in Opera Performance from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, under the tutelage of Dr Maree Ryan. During her studies at the University of Sydney, she was awarded Patricia Lucas Music Achievement Scholarship, Helen Myers Scholarship and Sydney Conservatorium of Music Scholarship.


Jiayao is currently pursuing a doctorate degree in education at the University College Fairview in Malaysia. She is one of the vocal faculty members in Dominus Arts at the Fairview.
In addition to her appearances as a mezzo-soprano, Jiayao performed roles, including Dorabella (Mozart, Cosi fan tutte), Summer, Mystery, Autumn and Don the attendants (Purcell, The Fairy Queen), Diana (Cavalli, La Calisto), Sorceress (Purcell, Dido and Aeneas). In 2017, she performed in the Third Lady (Mozart, Die Zauberflöte) at the Opera Australia and the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.


Jiayao has won numerous competitions and awards, including the Vocal Special Awards of Judy Reid Vocal Aggregate, winner in the Operatic Aria / German Lieder / Secret Song section and third prize winner in the Art Song / Lieder section from the 2019 Latrobe Valley Eisteddfod Competitions. She was the winner of the 2019 Warrnambool Eisteddfod Aria Competition and was named runner-up at 2019 Boroondara Eisteddfod Aria Competition. In 2020, she was the winner of the Boroondara Eisteddfod Competition, in the Lieder section. Third prize winner in the Art Song section of the 2019 Diamond Valley Vocal Eisteddfod. 




Dr Hyung Yi Kim
Violinist
Violinist Hyungi Kim is a distinguished soloist and chamber musician, performing over 50 concerts every year, ranging from Baroque music to Romantic virtuosic pieces to newly composed music. She started playing the violin at the age of 7 and made a debut at 13, playing Lalo's Symphonie Espagnole with Prime Philharmonic Orchestra. She continued her studies at Seoul National University (BM) and Eastman School of Music (MM, DMA) with Oleh Krysa, who was a pupil of the legendary Russian violinist David Oistrakh.


As a highly accomplished soloist and chamber musician, Hyungi Kim has been invited and to perform at Naantali Music Festival (Finland), Kronberg Festival (Germany), Beethoven Festival (Poland), Ufa and Sakhalin (Russia), New York, Tennessee, Colorado and New Mexico Tour Concert (USA), Shanghai Summer Music Festival MISA, Harbin Music Festival (China), Seoul Arts Center Orchestra Festival, Kumho Young Artist Concert, and Young Artist Festival
(Korea). She also gave recitals, playing a complete cycle of Bach's 6 Sonatas and Partitas, as well as complete Sonatas by Beethoven and Brahms.






Hyungi Kim has also performed with international orchestras including the Greece Symphony, Moldova Teleradio, Martinu Czech Filharmonie Bohuslav, Romania Craiova Philharmonic Orchestra, Shanghai Baroque Chamber, Seoul Philharmonic and Korean Chamber Orchestra. In 2009, she was tremendously acclaimed when she played Bartók's Second Violin Concerto performed with the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra at the Korean Orchestra Festival in Seoul Arts Center.


She has released three classical CDs, one of which was complete Sonatas and Partitas for solo violin by Bach. Hyungi Kim held faculty positions at Seoul National University and Yonsei University. She is currently the concertmaster at United Philharmonic Orchestra and also is a member of the Korean Chamber Orchestra, KCO String Quartet and Mirus Trio. She plays a violin constructed by Carlo Antonio Testore of Milan c. 1760.


Asyraf Farhan Adi Zairi
Singer




Asyraf Farhan was the male lead singer for the song "1 Malaysia". Previously, he was an International Goodwill Ambassador appointed by the former DYMM Sultanah of Pahang Sultanah Hajjah Kalsom.


Asyraf Farhan has participated in many events across the country called 1Malaysia and 1M4U programmed by the former Prime Minister of Malaysia. He has been invited in TV3's "I Can See Your Voice Malaysia (season 4)", Astro's Karaoke Superstar, and he has been involved in many TV shows in Malaysia. He is also a freelance vocal
coach and works for one of the best travel agencies in Melaka called Ukhwah Harmoni Travel and Tour Sdn Bhd.
