Lokman Given 24 Hours To Apologise Over Remarks On Judge
Syariah chief judge Mohd Na'im Mokhtar - who is recently implicated in allegations of sexual misconduct - has delivered a 24-hour ultimatum demanding an apology from politician Lokman Noor Adam.
In a letter of demand sent through the firm Akberdin & Co today, the judge told Lokman (above) to immediately recant his statements regarding the allegations and remove them from social media platforms and websites.
Apart from making an open apology within 24 hours of receiving the latter, Lokman is also told to offer the judge a “reasonable sum” as settlement for the damages and embarrassment he had allegedly caused.
Otherwise, the law firm said it has been instructed to initiate legal proceedings against him.

The letter is made in response to Lokman’s video supposedly published through his Facebook and YouTube accounts on Jan 10, where Lokman claimed the judge had sexually harassed several women and questioned his credibility.
“We are instructed to state that the said defamatory statements are clearly actuated by malice, hatred and/or spite.
“We are further instructed to state that the defamatory statements are unfounded, fabricated, untrue, entirely fictitious, and/or have been twisted and slanted to meet your own personal and/or political agenda,” the law firm said.
Previously, it was reported that police are investigating a married woman’s allegations that Na'im had visited her home in August 2020, where she lived with her bedridden husband.
She claimed she had given the judge permission to use her bedroom to perform prayers, but when he did not come out for some time, the woman went in and found him lying on her bed without any clothes on.
Na'im had lodged a police report denying the allegation, claiming it was part of a conspiracy to bring him down. - Mkini
