Lion Armizan Turns Into Cat Umno Chides After Ssm Records Unveiled
Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister Armizan Ali continues to face calls for investigation over allegations that he held director positions in two Sabah government-linked companies while serving as a federal minister.
Sabah Umno strategic communications director Datu Rosman Datu Ahir Zaman mocked Armizan, saying the minister initially appeared "like a lion" when challenging critics to present proof, but now seems "like a tame cat" after company records from the Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM) were revealed.
“Back then he looked like a lion, now like a cat after the SSM information was exposed,” he said in a statement yesterday.
Datu Rosman also reminded that if investigations prove Armizan (above) violated Article 48(1)(c) of the Federal Constitution - which concerns holding office in companies with government interests - he could lose his Papar MP seat as well as his cabinet position.
He added that the people of Sabah deserve a transparent explanation and welcomed a full investigation into Armizan’s involvement in the two corporate entities.

Armizan has previously denied any wrongdoing and expressed willingness to cooperate with authorities if an investigation is launched, following police reports and viral claims on social media.
However, calls for intervention by the Attorney-General’s Chambers, MACC, and police have grown, especially after opposition leaders and Sabahan NGOs raised concerns over possible ethical and constitutional breaches.
Code violation
Sabah Bersatu Youth earlier questioned whether Armizan had violated the Code of Ethics for Members of the Administration and Members of Parliament, given the allegations of him holding positions in the two Sabah GLCs while being a federal minister.
Sabah Bersatu Youth chief Hisyam Hazaril Azman also noted that the Federal Constitution prohibits any member of the administration from being involved in business simultaneously.
He alleged that Armizan may have breached Article 48(1)(c), which states that an MP may be disqualified if they hold a position that yields financial gain.
If proven, the matter should be referred to Article 53(1), which allows the Dewan Rakyat to declare the parliamentary seat vacant. - Mkini
