It Looks Like Mahathir May Be Behind Langkah Sheraton After All
At this point your guess is as good as mine, but one thing that definitely went according to plan is: Anwar Ibrahim did not take over as Prime Minister or PM8 on 10th May 2020, as what he and DAP had hoped, the DAP-dominated Pakatan Harapan coalition is out of the government, and Malaysia now has a “Malay” government, as what Mahathir wanted.THE CORRIDORS OF POWERRaja Petra Kamarudin
Is Mahathir the architect of “Langkah Sheraton”Over the last week or so, evidence has been slowly surfacing that Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin and de facto Deputy Prime Minister Azmin Ali may not have “betrayed” or “sold out” Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad on 23rd February 2020 after all. From the statements made by Hamzah Zainuddin, Zahid Md Arip, and a number of other Parti Pribumi Bersatu leaders, Mahathir may actually have been the architect of the “Langkah Sheraton”.
SEE HERE: “Zahid Md Arip sahkan kenyataan Hamzah Zainuddin” Of course, what was intended and what it became in the end could have changed. Maybe along the way something unexpected or something not part of the plan happened that caused the outcome to deviate from the plan. We will probably know the answer to that over the next couple of weeks. But it looks like as the far as the “Langkah Sheraton” itself is concerned, Mahathir’s fingers were definitely in the pie
What we DO know thus far from what has been revealed is: Mahathir wanted to “divorce” DAP and bring Parti Pribumi Bersatu out of Pakatan Harapan. Secondly, Mahathir wanted a media “war” waged against DAP to destroy its image and reputation. Third, Mahathir wanted to finish off Anwar Ibrahim and block him from becoming PM9, PM10, PM11 or whatever. Finally, Mahathir wanted Parti Pribumi Bersatu to spawn an all-Malay coalition with Umno and PAS (or Muafakat Nasional)
The result of an all-Malay coalition or alliance would mean the MPs in Perikatan Nasional would total about 85% versus the MPs in Pakatan Harapan which would be roughly just 40%. And that would mean in GE15 most Malays would vote Perikatan Nasional. Hence while Pakatan Harapan would “monopolise” the non-Malay votes, they would be struggling to garner the Malay votes.
One of the objectives of “Langkah Sheraton” is to block Anwar from becoming PM8From what we now understand, that was the plan and at the time of the “Langkah Sheraton” on 23rd February 2020 everything appeared to be working to plan. But the impression we get is that after the “Langkah Sheraton” something went wrong. What is it that went wrong? Or was is still working according to plan on 1st March 2020 when Muhyiddin Yassin got sworn in as the new Prime Minister or PM8 and it went wrong only after that
Knowing Mahathir, it could still be working according to plan until today. Or it could have been working to plan until the day Muhyiddin got sworn in as Prime Minister on 1st March — and only after that it began to go wrong. We really do not know yet but we will most certainly know very soon
Mahathir wanted a Malay government to replace the DAP-dominated Pakatan Harapan governmentMahathir is a master of deception. He can create the impression he is the hunted whereas in fact he is the hunter. It has been said many times that to know what Mahathir is up to you must observe what he does and not get distracted or fooled by what he says. Will we ever see the end of this wayang? And will the end be what Mahathir had planned all along, or has Muhyiddin hijacked the plan and moved it to another direction from what Mahathir had planned? At this point your guess is as good as mine, but one thing that definitely went according to plan is: Anwar Ibrahim did not take over as Prime Minister or PM8 on 10th May 2020, as what he and DAP had hoped, the DAP-dominated Pakatan Harapan coalition is out of the government, and Malaysia now has a “Malay” government, as what Mahathir wanted
