Cops Chasing Case Against Fahmi Reza S Pm Mouse Sticker
Police have again summoned Fahmi Reza, with the activist and graphic designer now being investigated for a sticker displayed during his “Kelas Demokrasi” TikTok livestreams.
According to a notice from the police, the authority had yesterday received a report against Fahmi, after which an investigation was initiated under Sections 504 and 505(c) of the Penal Code as well as Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act (CMA) 1998.
Section 504 of the Penal Code covers intentional insults with intent to provoke a breach of peace, while Section 505(c) refers to statements, rumours, or reports circulated with intent to incite an offence against others.
Section 233 of the CMA deals with the misuse of network services.
The notice, shared by Fahmi on Facebook today, further summoned the satirical artist to present himself at the Klang Utara district police headquarters at 2pm tomorrow for the purpose of providing his statement in relation to the case.
Fahmi was also instructed to bring along any documents or materials regarding the case, which centres on a sticker of a tie and coat-wearing brown mouse, with the letters “PM” featured on the graphic’s clothes.
“Failure to abide by this notice can result in action being taken under Section 174 of the Penal Code,” the notice stated, referring to the offence of disobeying a lawful order from a public servant to appear at a certain place and time.
Probed over specific video
Last month, Fahmi was summoned to the Bukit Aman police headquarters over his “Kelas Demokrasi” TikTok livestreams, which he had been hosting in the lead-up to the Sabah state election.

Sabah governor Musa AmanAt the time, Fahmi said he would be probed over a specific video, which explained how voters could theoretically vote to dismiss current Sabah governor Musa Aman.
Last year, the activist was arrested and investigated for sedition after putting up caricature paintings of the Sabah governor, depicting him as “Sabah’s Number One Corruptor”.
On May 29 this year, the artist was denied entry into Sabah and deported on arrival at the Kota Kinabalu International Airport.
He is still barred from entering the state.
In June, he was also mistakenly barred from leaving the country, which the Immigration Department then clarified was a “mix-up”, as his travel restrictions only applied to Sabah.
He has since initiated legal action against the authorities, seeking compensation over the matter. - Mkini
