Cops Summon Fahmi Reza Again This Time Over Kelas Demokrasi
Activist and graphic designer Fahmi Reza said he has been summoned by the Bukit Aman police headquarters over his “Kelas Demokrasi” TikTok livestreams, which he has been hosting in the lead-up to the 17th Sabah state election.
Fahmi said on Facebook today that he would be probed over a specific video, which explained how voters could theoretically vote to dismiss current Sabah governor Musa Aman.
“This afternoon, I received a criminal notice from Bukit Aman. I am instructed to be present tomorrow to be investigated regarding my Kelas Demokrasi video, titled, ‘Can Musa Aman be dismissed?’ which was uploaded onto Facebook two days ago (Nov 21).
“Even though Kelas Demokrasi has previously been censored, banned both online and offline, this is actually the first time I have been summoned by the police for it,” he said.
ADSFahmi explained that he was conducting Kelas Demokrasi videos to educate new voters in the upcoming Sabah polls, scheduled for Nov 29.

He also reminded how he had undertaken similar efforts previously to educate new voters for the 2022 general election and the August 2023 state elections.
The activist clarified that he was still awaiting confirmation if he was being probed under Section 4 of the Sedition Act and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act.
Fahmi confirmed that he would present himself to Bukit Aman tomorrow, but stressed that he would continue his mission to educate the public.
“To all the new voters, even though I have been summoned by the police, I will not stop conducting Kelas Demokrasi sessions every night on TikTok.
“Because in a democratic country, the rakyat is always the boss!” he added.
Theoretically possible
In the video, Fahmi was explaining how the Sabah state assembly could theoretically dismiss the governor if a two-thirds majority agreed to approve a motion.

The Sabah state assembly buildingHe further explained that a successful motion to dismiss the governor could then be presented to the prime minister, chief minister, and Yang di-Pertuan Agong for consideration.
“In the upcoming elections, Sabah voters can choose to elect assemblypersons who agree to dismiss Musa if they are elected. But out of 569 candidates competing, who will be brave enough to do so?” he said in the video.
Last year, the activist was arrested and investigated for sedition after putting up caricature paintings of the Sabah governor, depicting him as “Sabah’s Number One Corruptor”.
Fahmi’s caricature features Musa with his ceremonial headgear as Sabah governor, holding an RM100 note in his mouth.

Sabah governor Musa AmanOn May 29 this year, the artist was denied entry into Sabah and deported on arrival at the Kota Kinabalu International Airport.
He is still barred from entering the state.
In June, he was also mistakenly barred from leaving the country, which the Immigration Department then clarified was a “mix-up”, as his travel restrictions only applied to Sabah.
He later initiated legal action against the authorities, seeking compensation over the matter.
Musa’s appointment as Sabah governor last year was deemed highly controversial due to his previous corruption charges.
In 2018, Musa was slapped with 46 criminal charges linked to timber concession contracts in the state.
However, he was acquitted and discharged of all charges when prosecutors withdrew the case against him in June 2020. - Mkini
