Chegubard Says Sorry To Selangor Mbi Subsidiary Over Claims On Project

Bersatu division leader Chegubard has apologised to Landasan Lumayan Sdn Bhd (LLSB) for defaming the Selangor Menteri Besar Incorporated (MBI) subsidiary over the Selangor Maritime Gateway project.
ADSLLSB said Chegubard, or his full name Badrul Hisham Shaharin, made the apology in front of a Shah Alam Sessions Court judge last week, as part of an agreement to settle the company’s civil suit against the Port Dickson Bersatu division chief.
“We are pleased to announce that pursuant to the proposal by Chegubard for an out-of-court settlement, the parties to the suit have reached an amicable settlement.
“As part of the settlement, Chegubard has issued an apology in open court before the presiding judge, acknowledging the unfounded nature of the allegations and expressing regret that the impact of his defamatory statements or allegations made against LLSB have caused undue harm, distress and damage to LLSB’s reputation, for which he takes full responsibility,” it said in a statement.
According to LLSB, Chegubard also retracted all his statements regarding the matter, which he confirmed were based on “incorrect and incomplete information”.
Positive outcome
The politician has also assured the company that he will refrain from making any further false or defamatory statements on the matter, LLSB or the Selangor Maritime Gateway Project.
“The apology is issued without reservation as an acknowledgement of his responsibility and commitment to right the wrongs caused.
“LLSB welcomes the resolution of this matter, recognising it as a positive outcome that underscores our dedication to transparency and accountability in all operations and our commitment to upholding these principles,” the company said.
According to media reports, Chegubard had in August 2023 accused LLSB of acquiring the river cleaning project without going through an open tender process.
On top of this, the activist also alleged that LLSB was owned by a business tycoon. - Mkini
