Bersatu Disciplinary Board To Meet Soon Vows Stern Action On Errant Members

The Bersatu disciplinary board has vowed to take stern action, including immediate expulsion, against members found guilty of breaching party discipline and tarnishing its image.
In a statement today, the board said it would convene soon to examine all reports and complaints submitted.
“As an institution entrusted with upholding discipline, integrity, and organisational order, we emphasise that every breach of party discipline and regulations will be dealt with without compromise,” it said.
“All members referred to the disciplinary board will be summoned to attend formal proceedings to provide explanations and defend themselves in accordance with the established rules,” said the board.
While the statement did not disclose the names of leaders to be summoned, the board had last week postponed a scheduled hearing against Bersatu supreme council member Wan Saiful Wan Jan.
ADSAt the time, the proceeding was believed to be called over allegations against Wan Saiful, who was accused of collecting statutory declarations (SDs) in an attempt to push for party president Muhyiddin Yassin’s resignation.
The Tasek Gelugor MP yesterday denied the claims against him and further revealed that he will file a counter-report against Bersatu information chief Tun Faisal Ismail Aziz and Bersatu secretary-general Azmin Ali, over alleged misconduct.
The Bersatu disciplinary board today assured that the process would be conducted transparently, fairly, and in line with the party constitution.
“However, any member found guilty of violating discipline and damaging the party’s image will face stern action, including immediate expulsion,” it said.
“Discipline is the foundation of our strength, and it must be safeguarded collectively,” it added.
The board also urged members to remain focused on Bersatu’s struggle, cease any actions or statements that could weaken the party, and continue supporting the party leadership. - Mkini
