Johor Bersatu Urges Disciplinary Action Against Wan Saiful
Johor Bersatu has called for immediate disciplinary action against supreme council member Wan Saiful Wan Jan, while reaffirming its full support for party president Muhyiddin Yassin to continue leading both Bersatu and Perikatan Nasional.
In a statement today, Johor Bersatu chairperson Sahruddin Jamal said the matter concerning Wan Saiful (above) must be handled promptly by the party’s disciplinary board to preserve confidence in its credibility.
“As a political organisation grounded on principles of order and ethics, any breach of discipline or conduct that tarnishes the party’s image cannot be taken lightly.
“The disciplinary board must take the necessary measures without delay to ensure that members and the public retain confidence in the firmness and credibility of the party,” Sahruddin said.
ADSAt the same time, Sahruddin said Johor Bersatu stood firmly behind Muhyiddin’s leadership.

Johor Bersatu chairperson Sahruddin Jamal“Johor Bersatu firmly expresses full support for Muhyiddin to continue leading the party and PN.
“We are confident that his capable, trustworthy, and visionary leadership will be able to steer and resolve the party’s polemics as well as face today’s major challenges,” he added.
Sahruddin further reminded party leaders and members to resolve internal disputes through official channels rather than the media.
“Bringing internal issues openly to the media will only worsen the situation, weaken unity, and open opportunities for opponents to take advantage.
“This party must remain a platform of struggle that is mature, disciplined, and always prioritises collective interests above personal ones,” he said.
Yesterday, Wan Saiful stressed that his press conference was called only after division chiefs were subjected to sustained attacks, allegedly by other party leaders.
The Tasek Gelugor MP also confirmed he will be submitting a counter-report to the disciplinary board against Bersatu secretary-general Azmin Ali and the supreme council member Tun Faisal Ismail Aziz.
Similar calls
Separately, Negeri Sembilan and Terengganu Bersatu, through their state chiefs, also issued similar calls for an urgent disciplinary board hearing but stopped short of naming any leaders to be summoned.
Negeri Sembilan Bersatu chief Hanifah Abu Baker said the state leaders believe that any dissatisfaction or self-defence must be presented through the proper channels.

Negeri Sembilan Bersatu chief Hanifah Abu Baker“Namely, before the proceedings of the disciplinary board - and not through press conferences or public statements that only weaken the party’s image,” he said.
Terengganu Bersatu chief Razali Idris said firm and swift action is crucial to ensure that the party remains strong, credible, and respected.
“Any delay or leniency in addressing this issue will only undermine the party’s integrity in the eyes of its members as well as the public.
“At the same time, the Terengganu state leadership condemned the actions of certain parties who issued public statements in the media, which clearly do not benefit the party and instead create negative perceptions of its leadership,” he stressed. - Mkini
