Azam Named In New Video Macc Told To Be Recused From Probe On Shamsul
PAS information chief Ahmad Fadhli Shaari wants the MACC and its chief commissioner, Azam Baki, to be recused from the probe on Malacca PKR chief Shamsul Iskandar Akin.
This is after claims that Shamsul had discussed businessperson Albert Tei's case with Azam (above) surfaced in another explosive video released tonight.
In the video, a woman whose face is blurred - allegedly Shamsul's proxy - claimed that the PKR leader had met with Azam at an undisclosed time to ask the MACC chief to "settle" the case involving Tei.
This is in reference to the Sabah mining scandal.
"He (Shamsul) himself asked (Azam) to try and ease your case, try to settle it as best as possible, don't let it drag out," the woman said.

The alleged Shamsul Iskandar Akin’s proxyThe woman said that Shamsul - then Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim's political secretary - had met with Azam as he too was implicated in the Sabah scandal and was summoned by the MACC chief.
"He (Shamsul) told Azam that he did help you to meet with (Sabah caretaker chief minister) Hajiji (Noor) and all that," she said.
Later, when asked by Tei whether Shamsul had told the MACC chief that the Sabah scandal recordings were "PMX's orders", the woman replied: "Azam knows."
Malaysiakini has contacted Azam, Shamsul, representatives from the Prime Minister's Office, as well as Hajiji's office for comment.
In a brief comment on the video, Fadhli said in a Facebook post that regardless of whether the allegations are true or false, "Azam and the MACC must not be involved in the investigations."
Earlier today, the MACC said it would be summoning both Shamsul and Tei over the bribery allegations.

PAS information chief Ahmad Fadhli ShaariMore revelation, evidence
Yesterday, Tei revealed to Malaysiakini that he had spent RM629,000 on Shamsul after being purportedly assured that he could recoup the money channelled to politicians in Sabah.
Tei also furnished Malaysiakini with WhatsApp screenshots from December 2023 in which Shamsul purportedly requested money while travelling abroad.
In another snippet of Tei's conversation with Shamsul's alleged proxy last night, it was alleged that Anwar had given the green light for Tei to record his conversations about kickbacks with Sabah politicians.

Former PM’s aide Shamsul Iskandar Akin (left) and businessperson Albert TeiTei has been on a warpath to take down politicians he gave money to for mineral exploration licences, which he did not end up getting.
Shamsul yesterday resigned as Anwar's political secretary in anticipation of the accusations levelled against him. He has vowed to defend himself.
He has lodged a police report against Tei over a claim linking Anwar to video recordings of several Sabah politicians in the mining licence scandal. - Mkini
