Audit Dept Launches E Selfaudit System For Glcs
The National Audit Department (NAD) today launched the e-SelfAudit system for GLCs.
Auditor-General Wan Suraya Wan Mohd Radzi said in her speech at the system's launch that all information within the system will be kept confidential as per Section 8(3) of the Audit Act 1957.
"For 2025, the NAD's focus is to strengthen innovation and ensure the effectiveness of audit results that have a major impact on government administration and the people.
"In line with this aspiration, the NAD introduces the e-SelfAudit system as an innovative instrument that ensures accountability, transparency and good governance are practised in GLCs.
"This system is one of the eight existing components under the NAD's Service Digitalisation project which was internally developed, taking into account the views of strategic partners such as Deloitte, Ernst and Young and PricewaterhouseCoopers," she said today at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre.
The system was first piloted in November with the cooperation of 206 GLCs nationwide, she added.
Data analytics
Wan Suraya explained that this system will allow the NAD to identify key audit areas and evaluate risks through data analytics while ensuring a clear and detailed data trail.

"The e-SelfAudit system will also allow audits to be conducted in real-time for instant findings," she said.
Wan Suraya expressed her hopes the system will aid GLCs in carrying out financial management and good governance principles.
She called it a step forward in enhancing the people’s trust in the government's management.
Four guidelines
Besides that, Wan Suraya announced the release of four guidelines in accordance with recent amendments to the Audit Act.
The guidelines are titled “Guidelines for Auditing Management of GLCS”, “Follow the Public Money Audit Guideline”, “Guideline for Follow-up Audits” and “Guidelines for the Auditor-General's Certificate on Financial Statements”.
The Audit (Amendment) Bill 2024 was passed in the Dewan Rakyat in July last year.
According to Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Law and Institutional Reform) M Kulasegaran, the amendments will empower the NAD to provide independent and objective audits of government expenditures. - Mkini
