Are Detractors Claiming 300 Litre Mth Budi95 Ain T Enough Going On Trans Continental Expeditions

GIVE some an inch and they will take a yard.
That idiom seems to perfectly capture the sentiments of some surrounding the Budi Madani RON95 (BUDI95) petrol subsidy initiative.
As pointed out by popular influencer Ceddy (@CeddtOrNot) on X, detractors who are finding fault with the scheme claiming that it is insufficient seemed to have made a fundamental mistake with their calculations.
The fragrance entrepreneur highlighted that the 300 litres maximum cap should not be misconstrued as 300km!
“300 litres of petrol a month is not enough? Where’re you going?” he sarcastically asked.
Using vehicles such as Perodua Axia and Toyota Vios to make base comparisons, the perfume trader stated that 300 litres should provide motorists with approximately 5,000 km of travel!
The popular content creator was astounded to read commenters who complained that the amount was insufficient to cover even one balik kampung trip, prompting him to query whether these journeys were “trans-continental” in nature.
Agreeing with the poster, one observer simply asked if these detractors were “drinking” their share of the quota.

An automobile enthusiast helpfully listed how much savings could be made based on car models and their maximum petrol loads.

Some commenters further highlighted the fallacy of the argument based on personal experiences. One even surmised that those complaining it was insufficient “are travelling to their hometowns by Airbus”.

However, one commenter did vouch that city folk who are forever stuck in gridlocked conditions may find that the amount to be insufficient.

Echoing Ceddy’s sentiments was Jun (@h0r4ng1e) proclaiming that the post was NOT in support of the Madani administration but merely to highlight that the incessant complaining reflected a lack of understanding and knowledge.
This in addition to these whiners being ingratiates who only need to look at fuel prices in neighbouring countries to know how lucky they are.

It was observed that the incessant complainers were usually from the B40 segment who lacked education, forever demanding handouts and aid from the government.
“Ask not what you can do for your country but rather what can your country do for you” was the pointed accusation here.

One commenter reckoned that these complainers were usually those who had no qualms abusing the system to line their own pockets.

It was also insinuated that those who are complaining need to brush up on their maths.

At the end of the day, it is very much the case of ‘damned if you do, damned if you don’t’.
On the one hand, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and his Madani administration will be accused of being tone deaf to the rakyat’s suffering if they do nothing to alleviate their hardships.
On the other, there will be those who argue that tethering the nation onto a subsidy mindset will no doubt sow its own set of complex issues.
