Zakir Naik Should Not Be Allowed To Have Any Lecture Tour In Malaysia
Dr Zakir Naik, a "wanted man" in India for terrorist crime, who was granted permanent residency by the then Barisan Nasional government, is planning a lecture tour to Perlis from 1 December to 5 December and his themes will be on Malay unity, humanity and science.
His Perlis tour seems to be backed by an organisation linked to the Perlis Islamic Department and more than a dozen other State Agencies and Muslim groups.
There are so many prominent Malay Muslim religious leaders in Malaysia who could also speak on these matters or even better than him since they understand Malaysians.
What does Dr Zakir Naik know about Malay unity?
As far as most Malaysians are concern, Dr Zakir Naik should be refrained from speaking to any of the Malaysian public until he can clear his name in India. To do that he needs to go back to his home country, India which he refuses to do at this moment.
Terrorism is a major threat in Malaysia and around the World and anyone having links with these groups should not be allowed to speak freely and be with a group of "peaceful loving" Malaysians.
It would be in the best interest of Malaysia to cancel his so-called tour and restrict him to a certain location so that full surveillance could be made against him and at the same time, monitor his activities.
"There is no smoke without fire" illustrates his credentials.
If we allow him to speak, more States will invite him and he may be a "menace" to the Malaysian society. - Mohd Kamal Abdullah
