He said the former Supreme Council member should instead reflect on his past mistakes and focus on appealing his expulsion from the party.
“He has been expelled by the party’s disciplinary board. So, he should reflect and repent for every mistake and act of betrayal he has committed.
“It would be best for him to focus on submitting the appeal against his expulsion,” he told FMT, suggesting that Wan Saiful could also consider joining another party.
Tun Faisal added he plans to propose that the party take legal action against Wan Saiful and suspended Bersatu leader Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal over what he described as “false and defamatory claims against the party”.
Yesterday, Wan Saiful – who was recently sacked by Bersatu – named Tun Faisal and secretary-general Azmin Ali among several figures close to party president Muhyiddin Yassin whom he accused of straining ties among the leadership.
The Tasek Gelugor MP’s remarks came hours after Bersatu banned its members from meeting, interacting and attending events by those under disciplinary action by the party.
A circular by Azmin said it was an offence for any member to work with those outside the party, including members who had been disciplined, to smear the party’s image.
The circular did not identify anyone in particular. It comes 10 days after Bersatu suspended Wan Fayhsal, and expelled Wan Saiful and four division chiefs.
Wan Fayhsal also hit out yesterday at the party’s directive, which he said violated members’ rights and freedoms guaranteed under Malaysian law.
The Machang MP said the Societies Act did not empower any party official to control the personal lives of members. Rather, he said, the law stipulated that registered societies must operate democratically. - FMT
