Vengeful Anwar Will Target Hadi Next Wan Saiful Claims
The prosecution of several Perikatan Nasional (PN) leaders proves that Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim is not a reformer, but rather a vengeful leader who governs with an iron fist, claimed Tasek Gelugor MP Wan Saiful Wan Jan.
The Bersatu leader further alleged that with Bersatu president Muhyiddin Yassin and himself being hauled up, the government would shift its focus on the next target - PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang.
"Hadi (above) is being investigated for his statement regarding the change of government.
"There is nothing wrong with that statement because it is true that a change of government can be done at any time in the Westminster democratic system that we practice," Wan Saiful said.
Earlier, the police announced that they would investigate Hadi regarding his statement, who claimed that PN was trying to topple the government.
Sentul district police chief Beh Eng Lai said he had received a report against the Marang MP, which was lodged by Amanah Youth and Selangor PKR Youth at the Dang Wangi district police headquarters yesterday.
Tasek Gelugor MP Wan Saiful Wan JanOn that note, Wan Saiful alleged the government's main priority now is to disrupt PN so that there will be no checks and balances in the country.
"The pressure that Anwar is putting on the opposition is to cripple the tie-breaking process.
"Anwar is merely an old vengeful opportunist," he said while claiming that nepotism is also rampant in the government.
Anwar, who was once sentenced to prison for abuse of power, is now repeating the same attitude, added Wan Saiful.
"People and international observers need to realise that this is the real Anwar Ibrahim.
"It is not surprising if this ex-convict repeats his old habits, now that he sits on the ‘throne’ he has been longing for," he added.
On February 21, Wan Saiful was charged with two charges of soliciting and accepting bribes amounting to RM6.9 million involving the Jana Wibawa project worth RM232 million last year.
Muhyiddin to be charged
He pleaded not guilty and claimed the charge was a politically motivated prosecution.
Today, MACC chief commissioner Azam Baki confirmed that Muhyiddin will also be charged tomorrow.
In a brief statement, MACC said that Muhyddin will face several charges under Section 23 of the MACC Act 2009 and Section 4(1) of the Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Terrorism Financing and Proceeds of Unlawful Activities Act 2001. - Mkini
