Utm Cadet S Body To Be Exhumed Friday Lawyer Confirms
The body of Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) cadet Syamsul Haris Shamsudin, who died on July 28, will be exhumed at Kampung Rinching Ulu Muslim cemetery in Semenyih this Friday at 8am.
The family’s lawyer, Naran Singh, confirmed this with Malaysiakini today.
“The exhumation would be conducted by authorities, with the deceased’s mother, me, forensic expert Dr Bhupinder Singh, as well as Selangor Islamic Religious Department (Jais) present.
“His body would be brought to the Hospital Kuala Lumpur forensic department right after for a second post-mortem.
ADS“I believe the police would also cordon off the surrounding area on that day,” he said.
Naran praised Bukit Aman’s Criminal Investigation Department, especially its director, M Kumar, for their swift action in forming a special task force to investigate Syamsul’s death.

Lawyer Naran SinghThe exhumation scheduled for Aug 29 follows the Shah Alam High Court’s decision yesterday, where judicial commissioner Bhupindar Singh Gurcharan Singh Preet granted Syamsul’s mother’s application.
Bhupindar ordered the inspector-general of police (IGP) or his officers to oversee the exhumation and conduct a second mortem on Syamsul’s body within 14 days after the exhumation.
He also ordered that the post-mortem be held in Naran and forensic expert Bhupinder’s presence, and for the forensic pathologist who conducts the procedure to deliver the post-mortem report within a reasonable time, and for a copy of the report to be given to Naran.
Syamsul’s mother, Ummu Haiman Bee Daulatgun, filed her application on Aug 14, naming IGP Khalid Ismail and Attorney-General Dusuki Mokhtar as respondents, after suspecting something was amiss following injury marks found on her son’s body.
In her application, she said she suspected there were criminal elements in Syamsul’s death. - Mkini
