Under Pressure From Mic To Apologise Dap Rep Vows Not To Back Down
DAP assemblyperson M Thulsi claims she has been receiving calls pressuring her to apologise for her remarks about MIC or face a smear campaign aimed not just at her, but her family as well.
“It is deeply concerning to witness how far MIC is willing to go. I can also see a coordinated effort on social media. There is a clear push to pressure me into apologising and to shift the blame onto me,” said the daughter of former DAP MP M Manogaran.
According to the Buntong assemblyperson, the responses on her social media posts are telling - not just in tone, but in their underlying contempt.
“It’s unfortunate that this level of effort and coordination is being used to silence criticism, rather than to build and uplift the community.
ADS“Their actions reveal exactly what they stand for: not justice, not community, but self-protection at any cost,” she added in a Facebook post.
Despite the barrage of attacks, Thulsi made it clear: she will not be cowed into silence.
She also highlighted a glaring omission - none of her detractors have addressed the substance of her remarks or clarified why MIC feels entitled to a cabinet post with only a single parliamentary seat.

“Again, when I said ‘walk out or work it out’, I meant exactly that. If you’re in government, then act like a governing party. Let me be very clear. I will not be apologising,” she declared.
‘Put your money where your mouth is’
Thulsi had drawn MIC’s ire when she suggested the party leave the Madani government, following deputy president M Saravanan’s complaint that MIC was being treated like an “uninvited guest”.
“If MIC truly feels aggrieved and marginalised, it should demonstrate its conviction by vacating all government positions without hesitation.
“One cannot enjoy the privileges of being in government, hold significant roles, draw a salary, and benefit from the coalition while simultaneously engaging in constant criticism and discontent,” she had said.
Her remarks drew swift retaliation from MIC Youth chief K Arvind, who hit back by calling on DAP to take a hard look in the mirror.
