Mic Cites Zamri Vinoth To Outflank Dap In Indian Issues Row
MIC and DAP are locked in a war of words over allegations that the Madani government has failed to address the plight of the Indian community.
Escalating the row, MIC Youth chief K Arvind enlisted controversial Muslim preacher Zamri Vinoth to spotlight what he called DAP’s ineffectiveness.
He accused the party of inaction against Zamri, despite senior DAP leader M Kulasegaran serving as deputy minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (law and institutional reform).
“MIC, on the other hand, stood firm in calling for justice. DAP’s failure to act sends a clear message: political positions mean nothing without moral courage,” he added.
ADSLast week, Indian MPs from DAP and PKR voiced frustration after the Attorney-General’s Chambers (AGC) cited insufficient evidence to prosecute Zamri and fellow preacher Firdaus Wong.

Zamri Vinoth (left) and Firdaus WongZamri, previously the subject of multiple police reports over incendiary remarks, reignited public anger when he likened kavadi bearers during Thaipusam to intoxicated individuals.
Despite nearly 1,000 police reports lodged nationwide, the AGC’s decision to take no further action prompted an irked MIC president SA Vigneswaran to remind authorities that the 3R (race, religion, royalty) principle is not a legal shield to protect only one religion.
The clash between MIC and DAP escalated after MIC deputy president M Saravanan claimed the BN component party is being treated like an “uninvited guest” in the Madani government.
Saravanan, who is also the Tapah MP, said MIC would decide its future course during its annual general meeting in October, amid mounting dissatisfaction.
‘Feel free to leave’
In response, DAP assemblyperson M Thulsi said MIC is free to leave the government if it feels excluded.

DAP assemblyperson M Thulsi“If MIC truly feels aggrieved and marginalised, it should demonstrate its conviction by vacating all government positions without hesitation.
“One cannot enjoy the privileges of being in government, hold significant roles, draw a salary, and benefit from the coalition while simultaneously engaging in constant criticism and discontent.
“This approach undermines collective efforts and reflects a lack of commitment to shared goals,” said the Buntong representative.
However, Arvind fired back, urging DAP to reflect on its own track record.

MIC Youth chief K Arvind“For all the positions it holds and promises it made, DAP has consistently failed to be the voice of the Indian community.
“DAP has no moral standing to criticise MIC when Pakatan Harapan itself failed to fulfil its 10 key promises in the first 100 days of governance,” he added.
Earlier today, Deputy National Unity Minister K Saraswathy dismissed claims of Indian neglect under Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, accusing certain quarters of spreading misinformation. - Mkini
