Umno Has Failed To Deliver Too If Puad S Logic Holds Water Dap Man

JOHOR POLLS | Umno has failed to deliver if the argument put forward by its Supreme Council member Mohd Puad Zarkashi on Pakatan Harapan cooperating with Muda in the Johor polls indeed holds water.
This is according to DAP Youth chief Howard Lee who described Puad's latest statement as the dagger that stabs its owner.
Without mincing his words, the Pasir Pinji state assemblyperson described Puad as a defensive and erratic "old donkey".
"If Harapan’s willingness to work together and share seats with Muda is considered a failure, does (the existence) of these Malay-based parties - Umno, Bersatu and PAS - also be considered a failure? These parties grow like mushrooms after the rain.
"According to his own logic, the existence of these Malay-based parties shows Umno has failed to safeguard the fate of the Malays.
"This is like the dagger that stabs its owner," he said in a video clip he uploaded on social media.

— Howard Lee (@howardlee_my) February 10, 2022In his statement today, Puad said Harapan attempted to hitch a ride with Muda in order to look young by offering nine state seats out of 56 to the two-year-old party in the March 12 state polls.
"DAP, Amanah and PKR are hitching a ride on Muda's image to appear younger.
"It is also an admission that its youth wings such as PKR Youth and DAP Youth have failed," said Puad in a Facebook posting.
Yesterday, DAP and Amanah revealed that the pair would step aside for Muda in six seats - Tenang, Bukit Kepong, Parit Raja, Machap, Puteri Wangsa and Bukit Permai.
PKR, on the other hand, has offered three seats, which have not been named.
Responding to Puad, Lee questioned the whereabouts of the Umno Youth wing, so much so that Puad, a veteran, has to raise the question.
"The strange thing is, the old donkey in Umno spoke up against the so-called failure in Harapan Youth wing. Where is the Umno youth chief? Why does he (Puad) defend the youth wing by himself?
"We understand that Umno gives its youth wing space and opportunity due to the kindness of the big brothers. But just give a bit of face, just text Umno Youth chief (Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki), ask him to criticise instead," said Lee.
Umno was envious of the strong ties among Harapan and its strategic partners such as Muda while some Umno leaders were trapped in their lame ambition to fight among the Malay parties so that they can be seen as a leader for the Malays, according to him.
Lee also noted that youth leaders in Umno have to wait so many years before being fielded as candidates in the election.
Harapan adopts a culture of working with the youth in mainstream politics, he said.
"Umno Youth chief is also the party's vice-president. If you want to reprimand us - the youth from this side - just ask the people with equal status. Ask the youth chief to do so," he added.
The 56-seat Johor state assembly was dissolved on Jan 22 after incumbent Johor Menteri Besar Hasni Mohammad obtained the consent of the ruler.
The state government became fragile after the death of Kempas assemblyperson Osman Sapian which left Hasni with just a single majority in the state assembly.
Nomination day has been fixed for Feb 26, leading to a 14-day campaign period.
