Mahathir, Daim and Anwar destroyed Umno in 1988. Then they destroyed Umno again in 2018. And today a very confused and shellshock Umno is staggering aimlessly with no clear direction and is trying to roar like a lion as if it is still king of the jungle.NO HOLDS BARRED

What most Malays and Malaysians do not comprehend is that Umno 1946, Umno 1988 and Umno 2018 are three different parties. And this is because Malaysians — Malays in particular — do not have an analytical mind. And the reason why they do not have an analytical mind is because they have been brainwashed into accepting without question what they are being told.
It is unfortunate, as what Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi said, that Malaysia is a country with first-world infrastructure but third-world mentality. And this third-world mentality is not just inflicting the Malays but the non-Malays as well. And the vernacular schools or mother-tongue education is mainly to blame for this — they make Malaysians dumb.
Umno 2018 is a very confused and directionless Umno suffering from shellshockMalays have been brainwashed into thinking that questioning or analysing Islam, Malay customs and traditions, the Raja-Raja Melayu, etc., is taboo and heresy. You accept the situation and beliefs because questioning or analysing all these things leads you astray or makes you sesat. That is why most are like zombies and cannot think.
Anyway, the point I am making here is: this is the reason why Malays cannot comprehend that Umno 1946, Umno 1988 and Umno 2018 are three different parties (because they lack reasoning skills). Today’s Umno or Umno 2018 is not the same as the original Umno that was founded on 11th May 1946. And this year, 11th May 2021, is NOT Umno’s 75th Anniversary.
Umno had scammed the Malays (or rather Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, Tun Ghafar Baba and Anwar Ibrahim had scammed the Malays) back in 1988 that Umno Baru is the same Umno as the Umno that was formed on 11th May 1946.
Legally that was not true, of course, because the Umno that was legally registered in 1946 had been deregistered by the Registrar of Societies (RoS) in 1988. Then they registered a new party called Umno Baru. So Umno and Umno Baru were two separate legal entities. Umno Baru was NOT a continuation or sambungan of the 1946 Umno.
These three destroyed Umno in 1988 and destroyed Umno a second time in 2018But Malays believed that Umno Baru is the sambungan of the 1946 Umno, both legally and in spirit. The truth is, both legally and in spirit, Umno Baru was NOT the extension of the 1946 Umno. And that was why Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah formed the “Spirit of 1946” or Semangat 46. It was because Umno Baru was NOT the spirit of 1946. It had an entirely new and different spirit.
Even Tunku Abdul Rahman and Tun Hussein Onn refused to join Umno Baru and both died outside Umno. The Tunku called Umno Baru “Mahathir’s Umno” and an imposter to the real Umno. In the 1990 general election, Tunku supported and campaigned for Semangat 46 and he asked the Malays to reject Umno Baru and restore the original spirit of Umno, which had been lost after Umno was deregistered.
Legal issues aside, though, the 1946 Umno, 1988 Umno and 2018 Umno are not the same parties, especially in spirit. The values and perjuangan of Umno changed after Mahathir, Daim Zainuddin and Anwar took over in the early 1980s.
Tunku Rahman and Hussein Onn rejected Umno Baru and both died outside Umno
Umno started as a party of intellectuals, teachers, civil servants, writers, newspaper editors, journalists, poets, etc. By the mid-1980s, Umno had transformed into a party of businessmen, contractors, bankers, corporate people, etc.
In short, Umno changed from a party of people with only ideals but with no money into a party of people with too much money who wanted even more. Umno was no longer motivated by perjuangan but motivated by perniagaan. The Umno of the 1980s was: money talks, no money you can go walk.
And that was what the 1988 Umno was all about, the Umno Baru that replaced the 1946 Umno. And Mahathir, Daim and Anwar are to blame, the three people who led the Pakatan Harapan government in May 2018.
Mahathir, Daim and Anwar destroyed Umno in 1988. Then they destroyed Umno again in 2018. And today a very confused and shellshock Umno is staggering aimlessly with no clear direction and is trying to roar like a lion as if it is still king of the jungle.
Umno needs to know that everything that lives has to die in the end. If there is a beginning, then there is an end. We know Umno’s beginning, the question is, where is that end? That has to be decided by Umno itself.
But Umno 2018 appears to be running around in circles. So maybe that end will be GE15. And GE15 may be held by or before the end of 2021. Hence will 2021 be the end of Umno 2018 after the deaths of Umno 1946 and Umno 1988?
