Two Unidentified Soy Sauce Factories Closed Netizens Demand Their Identity Among Other Issues
RECENTLY, news portal Berita Harian highlighted the condition of two soy sauce processing factories which were closed for 14 days due to hygiene issues.
The order came after rat droppings were found about the premises among other conditions.
One of the factories was located at Jalan Patani while the other at Jalan CY Choy.
However, what appears to be another news on poor hygiene in food processing takes on an interesting twist as can be seen in the comment section.
Netizens were furious at the fact that the news portal did not reveal the company behind the factory, resulting in some questioning the quality of contemporary journalism.
“You are passionate to report the news yet you do not reveal the brand. You might as well report your news to the electric pole,” said EncikNon.
Wan Fadli observed that the names of huge entities, large companies, VIP and artists are not stated in the media.
“However, the common people when they are convicted of a crime, especially small ones, their faces, identification card, house, family and children are all exposed by the media, complete with photos,” he said.
However, there were few factories in the area and several netizens claimed that the company involved was Swee On Woh Sauce Factory.
The story also took a turn into religion and race with netizen Arman 𝕏 #freePalestine stating that people who bought halal soya sauce do not need to worry.
“It is alright as long as it is not Bumiputera. Only the Chinese eat it,” said LuvSupreme.
Autumn in your heart, added that this was what made the soy sauce finger licking good. Finally, the secret ingredient was revealed?
More than just the taste factor, we like to think that the soy sauce is a good way for people to improve their immune system or tolerance of toxins considering the condition in which it was manufactured.
Returning to the report, the first inspection conducted by the health enforcement team at the factory on Jalan Patani found soybeans being fermented in baskets placed on the floor in front of the toilets and washrooms.
The inspection of the second factory on Jalan CY Choy also revealed rat droppings near the chilli sauce processing rack, while male workers at the factory were found working without shirts.
Furthermore, the areas where the soy sauce and chilli sauce were being fermented were also in an unsatisfactory condition. — Focus Malaysia
