Two Serbian Nationals Detained For Entering Through Fly Syndicate
Two Serbian nationals have been detained at KLIA on Dec 12 on suspicion of entering the country through the illegal “fly syndicate”, which provides false entry stamps.
The two, who are alleged to be members of the Serbian armed forces, were detained at the departure hall of Terminal 1 as they were preparing to board a flight to Istanbul, Turkiye, at 11am that day.
Checks by Border Protection and Control Agency (AKPS) personnel found that the two did not have valid entry stamps in their passports, said a KLIA source.
“The MyIMMs system had recorded them as entering on Nov 14 through KLIA Terminal 2. This had prompted suspicions that they entered the country through the ‘fly syndicate’,” the source told Malaysiakini.
ADSIt was previously reported that the syndicate helped foreigners and migrant workers enter and leave Malaysia by supplying them with false entry and exit stamps.
The two Serbs have been detained at the Immigration Depot under Section 51(5)(b) of the Immigration Act 1959/63.

Police reports have been lodged at the KLIA police station, but the authority declined to confirm this when contacted.
An AKPS spokesperson confirmed the arrest of the two and said that the case is being investigated. The agency, however, declined to confirm whether the two are Serbian soldiers.
The KLIA source questioned how two soldiers could have entered Malaysia and overstayed.
“Why did they overstay, and what were their intentions? Who helped them come into the country?”
Malaysiakini has contacted the Serbian consulate in Kuala Lumpur and is waiting for their response. - Mkini
