Skudai Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) operations commander Mohd Riduan Akhyar said the couple, were trapped at home in the flood due to continuous rain since yesterday afternoon.
"A search and rescue (SAR) effort to save the two victims, aged 80 and 70 years, was mobilised after receiving a call at 4.36pm.
"A Toyota Hilux and an aluminium boat from the Skudai BBP as well as a Fire Rescue Tender (FRT) truck and an Emergency Medical Rescue Services vehicle from Kempas with 14 firemen were roped in for the SAR.
"The victims were evacuated using the aluminium boat until the water receded before transferring them to a Temporary Relief Centre at the Kampung Melayu Batu 10 community hall," he said in a statement today.
He said the SAR was completed three hours later at 7.54pm.
Meanwhile, three men in a Proton Exora and a four wheel-drive vehicle were trapped in flash floods in Taman Nusa Sentral Nusajaya at 2pm.
Iskandar Puteri (BBP) operations commander Mohd Anuar Mohd Amdzah said eight firemen and a FRT truck were rushed to the scene after being alerted at 2.46pm.
The three men were successfully brought out from their vehicles and taken to a safe location an hour later. The rescue operation was ended at 3.31pm. - BERNAMA
