Tng Digital Launch Digital Remittance Services In The Touch N Go Ewallet For Users To Send Money To 10 Countries
TNG Digital Sdn Bhd (‘TNG Digital’) has launched its digital remittance services, GOremit in the Touch ‘n Go eWallet, as part of its commitment to innovate and drive inclusivity across products and services.
With GOremit, users can send money securely to five Southeast Asian countries namely Indonesia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, and other countries in the Asian region including Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka.
Alan Ni, Chief Executive Officer of TNG Digital said, “With GOremit in the Touch ‘n Go eWallet, users and merchants can remit money to 10 countries from a convenient and safe platform. We are providing an inclusive solution with competitive exchange rates that meet the needs of millions of foreign workers that are here in Malaysia. Users who have the need to transfer money conveniently to their children studying abroad or transfer on behalf of their domestic helpers can do so via GOremit.”
As part of the company’s comprehensive financial inclusion agenda, the launch of GOremit has expanded the efforts to promote accessible financial services to the masses. GOremit caters to underserved communities, foreign workers, international students, and expats, providing them a safe and convenient solution to send money back to their home country or to their loved ones.
Senders are required to complete their verification via eKYC to use GOremit services and can choose to transfer to the recipient’s bank account, local eWallet or to cash pick-up points. As of today, there are three supporting e-wallets which include bKash in Bangladesh, GCash and PayMaya in Philippines. Recipients will receive their funds within 15 minutes depending on their method of collection.
“With the introduction of GOremit to our financial services portfolio, we are closer to becoming the go-to alternative to traditional banking solutions. We have plans to introduce more partners and expand this service to more countries in the future,” added Ni.
For users’ peace of mind, all transactions are done conveniently and securely through the eWallet, and users can view their history all from a single platform.
Push notifications will be sent to users on progress of their money transfer, and they can view the status of any ongoing remittance in the Touch ‘n Go eWallet conveniently. There is also an option to obtain a transaction receipt and for it to be sent to the registered email on the eWallet.
Users can also add and create new receivers by entering the required details in their eWallet. Similarly, should they wish to remove an existing receiver profile, they can do so seamlessly by tapping the delete button within the page of their eWallet.
In addition to sending money internationally through GOremit, users can also receive funds from overseas in their eWallet real-time from Wise and Panda Remit. This service will benefit international students completing their studies in Malaysia and anyone who needs to receive money from overseas directly in their eWallet. The company is planning to expand this service to more overseas partners in the near future.
Over the years, Touch ‘n Go eWallet has been progressively building its suite of financial products and services, comprising investments, insurance, lending, and payments solutions, specially tailored to offer value and convenience to its users from all segments of life.
With the addition of GOremit, the company has reached a significant milestone by expanding its services to include both inbound and outbound remittance, further enhancing its comprehensive and inclusive financial services ecosystem. This reflects the company’s continuous innovative efforts to redefine banking, provide seamless, safe, efficient, and reliable financial solutions that are tailored to meet the evolving needs of its users.
