The Rm1 4 Million Payment To Clare Is To Prevent Najib From Leaving Malaysia
This is a risk the government cannot take. Hence they needed Clare to settle her case out of court to make sure Najib never leaves Malaysia. And there is no way the case can proceed if Najib does not testify because he is the most crucial element in the case (the RM90 million allegedly paid to Hadi and the other PAS leaders was supposed to have come from him).

Why did Clare Rewcastle Brown ask to settle Abdul Hadi Awang’s civil suit out of court? Even if Clare did not ask for the out-of-court settlement, but the request came from Hadi, why did she agree?
She said she has spent more than RM2 million on the case thus far and expects to spend in total at least twice that amount. But then her agreement with Hadi is that no costs would be involved, which means Clare has to carry that RM2 million herself with no compensation.
And we all know Clare would never do anything unless she receives a lot of money for it. So there is no way Clare would want to suffer that loss of RM2 million.
Why did Clare ask to settle the case out of court?
But then if Clare does not settle out of court the loss may come to RM8 million if she loses the case because she will have to pay her cost plus Hadi’s cost. Hence it is better to suffer a RM2 million loss now than a possible RM8 million later.
What we did not know until now is that she did not really suffer that RM2 million loss after all. Someone covered her loss. So the RM1.4 million cheque may not be the only payment involved. There is probably another cheque for RM1 million or so.
But then who paid Clare the money? It was not Hadi or PAS. That, we now know. It was Rameli Musa. And Rameli Musa is Anwar Ibrahim’s crony who was recently appointed the KTMB Chairman.
Was the RM1.4 million that Rameli paid from Mahathir or from Anwar?
We now need to find out whether Anwar or Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad was behind Rameli Musa’s appointment. Some say it was Mahathir and that Rameli has switched camps and is no longer with Anwar. So does that mean it was Mahathir who asked Rameli Musa to pay Clare the RM1.4 million?
But then why? Why does Mahathir want Clare to settle the civil suit with Hadi out of court?
The answer is actually very simple. The entire case hinges on the allegation that former prime minister Najib Tun Razak paid Hadi and other PAS leaders a total of RM90 million. That was what Clare alleged.
Hadi and Najib deny this allegation. And the lawyers are going to summon both Hadi and Najib to court to testify that the RM90 million story is a lie.
Najib and Hadi were supposed to testify in London to deny the RM90 million allegation
Hence, for the sake of justice, the Malaysian government will have to allow Najib to travel to London to testify in court. And for that to happen the government will have to give Najib back his passport.
But the government is worried that once Najib is allowed to leave the country he may never return to Malaysia. The government suspects Najib has billions stashed away in Kazakhstan and that Kazakhstan is prepared to grant Najib asylum. (And we all know why).
Will that mean Najib will buy a one-way ticket to London and then fly by private jet to Kazakhstan where he can retire and spend the rest of his days enjoying the billions he has stashed away there?

In fact, I had already planned to invite Najib to visit Manchester, catch a game at the Old Trafford, and drop in to Gossip Kopitiam, the award-winning restaurant, for dinner. It looks like those plans are now off, all because Clare was paid RM1.4 million.
