Taman Sri Muda Residents Urgently Need Water Management Consultant
The Taman Sri Muda Zone D residents’ association says many residents are thinking of moving out after the disastrous floods in December. (Bernama pic)SHAH ALAM: The Taman Sri Muda Zone D residents’ association is appealing for help from water management consultants to stop water from other housing estates flooding their area.
The association’s president, Andrew De Silva, said all their efforts to solve the drainage problem in their area had hit a dead end.
The housing estate was one of the worst-affected areas hit by floods in Selangor in December. The residents’ association has blamed the authorities for diverting drainage from neighbouring areas to Taman Sri Muda.
The association had sought legal advice from the Bar Council on Jan 29 on how to proceed with action against the authorities.
“The Bar Council has advised us to get a water management consultant to compile a technical report to back up our claims.
“Once that report is done, the council will have further discussions with the relevant parties on the next course of action,” De Silva said.
He said the association wanted the main outlet bringing water from neighbouring areas to Taman Sri Muda closed.
“This outlet along Jalan Muhibah 25/7 is the main cause of our problems.
“All the residents are afraid whenever it rains. Many have left or are planning to leave.
“Getting this technical report ready is our main priority now,” he said.
Any water management consultant interested in helping the residents’ association may get in touch with them at
