Tajuddin Wants Ismail Sabri To Remain As Pm Post Ge15
Former Umno national election director Tajuddin Abdul Rahman said he wants Ismail Sabri Yaakob to continue to lead the country as the prime minister even after the 15th general election.
At the Aspirasi Keluarga Malaysia (AKM) roadshow held in his constituency today, the Pasir Salak MP reiterated his undivided support for Ismail Sabri in front of the prime minister with about 15,000 people in attendance.
“Whatever it is, I will remain loyal and support the prime minister, no matter what people say about him – there are some who say he is soft or whatever.
“Why are there all sorts of accusations thrown against him? All sorts are being said about him, we want him to remain the prime minister after the general election,” Tajuddin said at the roadshow event held in Kampung Gajah, Perak today.
Removed by Zahid
Last week, Tajuddin had made a splash by claiming there were a number of Umno leaders who had once signed statutory declarations in support of PKR president Anwar Ibrahim to become prime minister.
These claims were made several days after Tajuddin was removed from the Umno supreme council by party president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
In the breaking press conference in Petaling Jaya, Tajuddin had also said Zahid was a liability to Umno’s survival and that he should not lead the party in facing GE15.
Tajuddin’s actions have been condemned by several Umno leaders and he now faces the possibility of disciplinary action from the party.
The roadshow programme today was held in the Pasir Salak constituency, which is just next door to Bagan Datuk, Zahid’s constituency.
During his speech at the event today, Ismail Sabri said the AKM roadshow in Pasir Salak was the most successful one so far.
He estimated more than 40,000 people attended the carnival which lasted three days, starting last Friday. - Mkini
