Stop Making Divisive Statements Pahang Dap Chief Tells Nur Jazlan
Pahang DAP chairman Lee Chin Chen said unity and mutual support are essential for the stability and long-term interests of the government and the country.
PETALING JAYA: Pahang DAP chairman Lee Chin Chen has urged Umno Supreme Council member Nur Jazlan Mohamed to stop making divisive statements.
Lee instead told Nur Jazlan to work sincerely with the parties within Pakatan Harapan (PH) to ensure the stability and progress of the unity government.
Only through unity and mutual support can we ensure the stability of the government and the long-term interests of the country, he said in a statement today.
Earlier today, Nur Jazlan said Umno and DAP were pilots in the unity government whereas Amanah and PKR were just passengers, adding that the latter two should not make demands as if they held more authority than they actually do.
The Senate deputy president said the two PH components often made demands for more seats and positions as if they were dominant parties.
In response to Nur Jazlan who said that PKR and Amanah were unfit to sit at the
political poker table with Umno and DAP, Lee firmly rejected these assertions and labelled these as an attempt to undermine PH’s unity.
He said while DAP, PKR and Amanah may occasionally hold differing views on various issues, these differences have never threatened the foundation of their cooperation.
This was evident following several general and by-elections, during which all parties have built a solid framework for collaboration and developed deep friendships and trust through their long struggle.
Lee also said the successes achieved by PH are a result of close collaboration among allied parties.
For instance, in the Pulai by-election last year, the strong cooperation between PH and Barisan Nasional led to a significant victory, clearly demonstrating the importance of inter-party collaboration. - FMT
