You Should Thank Ph Instead Dap S Boo Tells Severely Diabetic Umno

The Johor DAP leader hits back at Nur Jazlan Mohamed’s suggestion that Pakatan Harapan apologise for slandering Umno.
(FMT) – Umno, which is “severely diabetic”, should thank Pakatan Harapan instead of expecting an apology, says Johor DAP leader Dr Boo Cheng Hau.
Boo said Umno and the country’s socioeconomic ailments were like a “severely ill diabetic patient with gangrenous toes who needs amputation to save his life before sepsis occurs”.
He said the “painful reforms” undertaken by PH under Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim have saved not only Umno but also the country from destruction.
“Umno should openly thank PH and Anwar’s leadership for resuscitating an ailing economy, which has saved Umno from further deterioration,” he said in a statement today.
“Umno should take responsibility for the rampant mismanagement of the country’s socioeconomic well-being and corruption during its tenure as the dominant ruling party in the past, and apologise to all Malaysians.
“Umno should not only retract its demand for PH to apologise, but also express full gratitude to it, a well-intended and competent surgeon who has amputated gangrenous toes and saved a severely ill diabetic patient.
“It is for the diabetic patient – that is, Umno – to thank PH, the surgeon who saved his life.”
Boo was responding to a post on Facebook yesterday by Johor Umno deputy chairman and Umno Supreme Council member Nur Jazlan Mohamed, who called for PH to apologise to Umno for attacking the party and tarnishing its image among voters over the years.
Nur Jazlan said PH must realise no single party in the unity government can claim to be the main pillar of the alliance, following the outcome of last Saturday’s by-election in Mahkota, in which Umno’s Syed Hussien Syed Abdullah scored a landslide victory.
He also said PH could forget about staying in power without the support of Malay votes that Umno could bring.
However, Boo claimed that out of the more than 27,000 votes obtained by Syed Hussien, more than 14,000 were from PH supporters.
“PH’s cooperation with Umno is conditional. Umno has to be determined to reform itself and the country’s ailing institutions, like a severely diabetic patient willing to abide by his doctor’s prescription, advice and strict diet.
“Or else, Umno will have to face the electorate’s verdict in the upcoming elections on its own,” he said.
