Some Misunderstanding Perhaps
MY previous posting on Sabah BN list of candidates for the state election drew furious and unpleasant response from some Wanita 'bigshots'. I got nasty calls, and so did the President's senior aides.
My immediate feeling was, 'where did I go wrong? Was I wrong to highlight the adverse comments by some Wanita leaders, at state and national levels, about their dissatisfaction over the list, that only one candidate each from Wanita and Puteri are fielded for the September 26 election?
No, I found no wrong. My colleagues also said it was okay, except that it stirred uneasiness to some, especially among Wanita members. They were shocked when Sabah Umno chief Bung Mokhtar Raden announced the list on Thursday. I was equally discontented too.
I agree that Wanita should have more than a single entry to the election. However, I agreed when reaching the comprehension that Bung and his state BN-Umno was given a free hand in making the selection, that Sabah BN-Umno was autonomous it their decision.
Owhhh... few remarks said that I used unfriendly words and terminologies in my posting against those who ridiculed Ahmad Zahid and Bung. I was also accused of using bad words on them. For all that I know, and those who know too, I applied no profanity.
The phrase "wet your panties elsewhere" means don't be childish as only little girls will pee in their undies. In Malay, JANGAN JADI BUDAK-BUDAK!
Let's cut it short.
I have no intention of looking down at Wanita's might and contribution. Maybe there is a little 'naughty' faction in the wing, just like Pemuda and Puteri. Its a normal norm in every political party and in our homes too.
However, its not 'friendly' to attack the President openly. We had always chose the close door system to demonstrate whatever problem.
And in this issue, Zahid is not to be blamed. Umno has given its full autonomy to Sabah Umno and it is Bung's legitimate rights to make his selection. Maybe he has his own formula for the betterment of the party and the Sabahans. We should trust him.
Similarly, it goes with Zahid too. He never interfered in the selection.
So, let me reiterate that we subscribe to our own way in Umno. Since becoming a member in 1981, I always enjoyed how the party have move about.
We need all Umno leaders and workers in Sabah state election. Wanita has proven it in many by-elections since May 2018 and it is a force to be reckoned with.
By the way, this blog is my personal domain. Nobody dictates it by asking me to write this and that. Neither do Zahid and others. I attend to running issues professionally. When Zahid or anybody is under open attack on the social media, I'm free to come to their defend by penning down my thought.
No heart feeling. If we want our neighbor not to bang our common wall just to hang a picture, we should avoid it too.
Sabah needs you. I have many friends in Wanita too who are loyal to the party and President. Let's put it behind and work for common interest. I am in Kota Kinabalu if anybody needs to confront me. This is not an apology because if I do, some people too must apologise to Zahid for the misunderstanding.
Come on, let's have a 'teh tarik' session in KK.
