Siti Kasim Offended By Pmx Labelling Malaysians As Foolish For Having Differing Opinion From Him

IT IS not sheer stupidity to have differing opinion from Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim for not two individuals think alike or may probably be addressing important issues from a different perspective.
As such, Siti Kasim is adamant that every Malaysian has the right to express issues pertaining to the abuse of power, injustice or violation of rights given failure to do so portrays their failure to be a responsible citizen.
“As a democratic nation, every Malaysian has the right to ask, criticise and exposes wrongdoings,” the human rights activist and lawyer insisted in her latest YouTube rant in retaliation to PMX describing Malaysians as foolish for their eagerness to sensationalise petty issues.
“In fact, PMX has failed to showcase transparency and accountability as he tends to avoid responding to questions or views (that are contrary to his opinions) and is now blaming Malaysians as foolish for having the tendency to sensationalise issues.”
To re-cap, PMX in his Prime Minister’s Department staff meeting for April on Monday (April 7) has reminded civil servants to tackle every issue in the country effectively to prevent it from being exploited by irresponsible parties.
“Some people are foolish; they don’t think about the public interest; everything must be politicised, and everything must be dealt with through punishment,” he claimed.
Citing the recent re-location of the Sri Pathrakaliamman Temple in the capital, PMX said the Madani government had resolved the matter peacefully and with respect for other communities.
“Our country is diverse – with various races and religions – yet Islam is the religion of the Federation, and the strength of Islam is undisputed… our decisions must be based on clear principles,” he justified.
Bad taste
Delving further on PMX’s statement, Siti Kasim felt that “maybe PMX is more suitable to be a leader of a feudal state whereby the citizens have no other choice than to listen and follow his order”.
“Or as a leader of a dictatorship nation whereby differing opinion and possessing conflicting views with the (supreme) leader is treated as a crime,” opined the Orang Asli advocate.
“In all fairness, it is unbecoming for PMX to label people with differing opinions from him as foolish … even if we’ve erred in bringing up certain issues, he’s duty-bound to clarify the matter with what is truthful instead of simply labelling his critics as foolish.”
Siti Kasim further cast doubt in PMX’s claim that “an issue has been resolved cordially” given “does he mean that the said issue has been resolved fairly in accordance with the law or if the resolution is achieved under threat or in a manner that entails corrupt practices”.
Ponting to the Abang Belon issue, Siti Kasim has disputed the Kuala Lumpur City Hall’s (DBKL) claim that the former has obstructed the movement of the public, refused to heed order to disperse or is an unlicensed vendor.
There could be elements of abuse of power within local authorities given the mayor and councillors are politically appointed by the Federal government as opposed to be democratically elected.
In fact, many a time, their planning or decision-making processes are done behind closed door with no hansard unlike the Parliament as reference for their future actions
They have to specify which DBKL by-laws have been breached or the level of authority vested on its enforcement officers … many a time, the rules and regulations aren’t clearly spelt out on their website.
So by right, the so-called reformasi government must consider local council election given this was part of their election manifesto … another way is for the Local Government and Housing Ministry to make local authorities meeting open to the public.” – April 9, 2025
