Show Us Your Report Card Dap Man Tells Pn Led States
DAP vice-chairman Nga Kor Ming has called for the three states previously led by Perikatan Nasional (PN) to publish a report card on their accomplishments in the past term.
(FMT) – He said states that were previously led by Pakatan Harapan (PH), namely Negeri Sembilan, Selangor and Penang had produced its report card following the dissolution of the respective state assemblies.
“Today, I ask that the states ruled by a religious party produce their report card,” he said in a veiled jab at PAS at a press conference here.
PAS had led the governments in Kedah and Terengganu since 2018 and in Kelantan since 1990.
Nga, who is also local government development minister, rubbished Kelantan deputy menteri besar Amar Nik Abdullah’s claim that the state was not “underdeveloped” as detractors had alleged, just because there was an Aeon Mall in the state.
“Was Aeon built by the state government or private investors?
“Aeon Mall is a landmark and is something that cannot be accepted (as proof of development). Hence, a report card is required for the people to evaluate the state government.”
The six states will go to the polls on Aug 12.
Separately, Nga said he still considered Muda president Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman “a good friend” after the party decided to contest solo in the upcoming state elections.
However, he said it would be better if “we could reach a compromise to build the country”.
“Even MCA and MIC are not contesting but are willing to help the unity government.”
Last month, PKR Youth said that Muda was a “partner not worth keeping” following its decision to go solo on grounds the party was not given a chance to meet with Pakatan Harapan (PH) leaders to discuss seat allocations for the upcoming polls in six states.
PKR Youth chief Adam Adli said Muda’s decision to go on its own implied that it had lost confidence in PH’s ability to govern the states led by the coalition.
Syed Saddiq was reported to have said that the party had submitted three letters requesting for a “simple meeting” with PH chairman Anwar Ibrahim but was “left hanging” and even ridiculed.
