Take Action Against Your Own Leaders On 3rs Dap Turns Tables On Pas

DAP chairperson Lim Guan Eng has turned the tables on PAS, saying it is the Islamist party which should have action taken against its leaders for purportedly playing up the 3Rs (religion, race, and royalty).
He was responding to PAS information chief Khairil Nizam Khirudin (above, right) who yesterday called on the government to take stern action against DAP for allegedly using issues that touch on the 3Rs.
“Khairil should be asking for stern action against his own president Abdul Hadi Awang if he is sincere and committed to stopping political leaders from using 3R issues in their statements.
“To demand action against DAP leaders reacting to PAS extremist actions and racist statements against non-Muslims or even defend Penang from being bullied, which is clearly unconstitutional, PAS is behaving no different from ‘a thief calling a victim a thief’.
“Hadi issues the most statements touching on 3R sensitivities, deliberately denigrating, humiliating, discriminating and bullying non-Muslims,” Lim (above) said in a statement today.
PAS president Abdul Hadi AwangHe pointed to Hadi’s recent statement praising non-Muslims who dress in a “humane” manner with dignity.
He said Hadi had called those who do not dress modestly as being “without shame” and “similar to animals who cannot think and have no dignity”.
“Should action not be taken against Hadi for such a divisive and extremist statement against non-Muslims to the extent of even implying that they have no shame like senseless animals?” Lim asked.
The Bagan MP also touched on the issue of Kedah Menteri Besar Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor who had previously said Kedah should reclaim Penang and suggested the Federal Constitution be amended to achieve this.
Lim said DAP leaders cannot be expected to keep silent in defending Penang’s right to exist as a sovereign state.
Kedah Menteri Besar Muhammad Sanusi Md NorHe also accused Sanusi of being the one to “turn racist” in responding to this issue by asking him (Lim) in what boat he came to Malaysia with, despite both his parents being born in Malaysia.
“I will not back down from speaking and mobilising public support to stop Sanusi from unilaterally wanting to amend the Federal Constitution to extinguish Penang’s sovereignty to return it to Kedah without getting the consent of 1.8 million Penangites.
“DAP leaders will continue to speak up without fear or favour against corruption as well as to defend the rights of Malaysians from being bullied by racists and extremists in PAS and Perikatan Nasional (PN),” said the former Penang chief minister.
In a separate statement, Bukit Bendera MP Syerleena Abdul Rashid said PAS’ attacks against DAP show that the Islamist party is out of ideas.
“As usual, PAS continues to play up its misguided narrative of 'it’s all DAP’s fault' as the state polls are coming,” she said.

On the other hand, it is PAS’ statements which constantly touch on the people’s sensitivities which worry DAP, she said.
“I hope these sensitive issues, especially those involving the 3Rs, will not be politicised by any party as the state polls approach,” she said. - Mkini
