Shafie Warisan Open To Smart Cooperation With Anyone Including Grs Bn

Warisan president Mohd Shafie Apdal said his party is open to undertaking smart cooperation with any political party or coalition, including Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) and BN in the 15th general election.
However, he told a press conference yesterday that Warisan would make a detailed assessment of any potential partner (party) and the form of smart cooperation it would have to ensure it was in line with Warisan's struggle.
This must be to safeguard Sabah's interests, be inclusive and strengthen the unity of Malaysians, he said, according to a report by Bernama.
“We need to be open to ensure that we can strengthen the party because we are aware and know that being alone is not easy.
"Even if there is a smart partnership or cooperation, the concept is similar to what Sarawak does, working closely with the government of the day,” he said.
Warisan president Mohd Shafie ApdalShafie added that Warisan was also open to forging smart collaborations with any party that would lead the government at the federal level after GE15, in order to form a more stable government and at the same time, fulfil the mandate given to the people in the election.
“However, what is important now is that we need to prepare the party to face GE15. The first step is to strengthen the party and the constituencies represented by Warisan assemblypersons and MPs,” said the Semporna MP and Senallang assemblyperson.
Warisan recently began the move to spread its wings to Peninsular Malaysia but has drawn flak by attracting a number of disgruntled members from Pakatan Harapan parties.
Its entry into electoral politics in the Johor state election was not a success as all six Warisan candidates lost their deposits. - Mkini
