Saifuddin Mocks Pas Outcry Over Hadi Skinny Dipping Claim

PKR CONGRESS | PKR secretary-general Saifuddin Nasution Ismail has mocked its rival PAS for playing up an alleged attack by an Umno leader on the Islamist party’s president Abdul Hadi Awang.
In his winding-up speech at the 17th PKR Congress, Saifuddin (above) cited the outcry by Terengganu PAS deputy commissioner II Satiful Bahari Mamat against Terengganu Umno chief Ahmad Said, who accused Hadi of “skinny dipping” in an ablution pool at the Rusila Mosque.
“To PAS, that (skinny dipping claim) is a big issue.
“But I want to say to PAS, when some of your leaders, including your coalition leaders, accused the prime minister (Anwar Ibrahim) of a slanderous claim, the (Islamic) law on that is clear… their testimonies will never be accepted as witnesses (under syariah law),” said Saifuddin.
He cited Bersatu leader Mohd Radzi Md Jidin's outburst in the Dewan Rakyat last September, during which he had said “Tambun peliwat (sodomiser)” in reference to Anwar.
“But the ‘skinny dipping’ claim has become a big issue (to PAS)?” the home minister questioned.
PAS president Abdul Hadi AwangIn light of the claim made on the Kemaman by-election campaign trail, Satiful said PAS would lodge a police report on the matter and several other alleged campaign violations by BN.
In a video clip circulating on social media, Ahmad purportedly shared an incident he claimed occurred three years ago.
‘Make solid arguments’
In his speech today, Saifuddin went on to urge PKR members to counter such outcries with arguments based on facts, including recent attacks targeting Anwar and the government over alleged support for major international concerts.
“We have strengths based on solid arguments.
"We must oppose and confront (any claims) with facts,” he said.
He went on to cite a longer list of international concerts hosted during PAS’ time in government as part of the previous administrations. - Mkini
