Farhash To File Report Against Wan Fayhsal Over Enticing Mps Claim
Ex-PKR leader Farhash Wafa Salvador Rizal Mubarak said he would not rule out taking legal action against the Machang MP.PETALING JAYA: Ex-PKR leader Farhash Wafa Salvador Rizal Mubarak will lodge a police report against Machang MP Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal for claiming that the former was involved in enticing opposition MPs to support the government.
Farhash, a former political aide to Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, denied Wan Fayhsal’s claims and said he was no longer involved in politics.
“In view of the slanderous statements and allegations thrown against me, I will file a police report so that further action can be taken against Wan Fayhsal by the police.
“I also reserve my right to file a defamation suit against Wan Fayhsal,” he said in a statement.
The former Perak PKR chief said Wan Fayhsal had no evidence to back his allegation, which he said tarnished his reputation.
He reiterated that he was no longer active in politics and is now a businessman.
At a press conference earlier, Wan Fayhsal identified two persons he claimed allegedly enticed opposition MPs to support Anwar as prime minister, namely Farhash and a “Datuk Botak”.
The Bersatu Youth chief said the duo were shown in a video he claimed had been circulating on Facebook and TikTok, with “Datuk Botak” bringing and threatening MPs to support Anwar.
Wan Fayhsal also said the video explained Farhash’s role in the matter.
Muhyiddin Yassin had previously said Bersatu would lodge reports with the police and the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission after four of its MPs pledged their support for the government.
The four are Iskandar Dzulkarnain Abdul Khalid (Kuala Kangsar), Suhaili Abdul Rahman (Labuan), Azizi Abu Naim (Gua Musang) and Zahari Kechik (Jeli).
They said they were not leaving the party but were supporting the government for the sake of getting allocations for their constituents. Suhaili and Iskandar have since been suspended from Bersatu. - FMT
