Razman S Mistake Isolated Case Doesn T Represent Pas Takiyudin
Perak PAS commissioner Razman Zakaria’s faux pas in false claims about Youth and Sports Minister Hannah Yeoh is an “isolated incident” and does not represent PAS as a whole, the party’s secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassan reportedly said.
Berita Harian quoted him saying that, as a whole, PAS members are still orderly, disciplined, and do not speak out of turn – despite “one or two” people speaking in their personal capacity.
He further claimed that other parties have done worse.
“I can say that in all (political) organisation, there would be one or two people like that but we can’t say the whole party is the same.
“An individual’s views don’t represent the party or their own office, and even if he spoke as commissioner, he can’t represent (the whole party).
“That is an isolated case for us… other parties are worse for calling (rival) parties damned (celaka) and such… but for us as an Islamic party, we feel we are under control. Our members and leaders are always disciplined,” he said.
Takiyuddin (above) also said that Razman would have at least been reprimanded or given a warning, which shows there is action from the party leadership.
When asked about calls to suspend Razman, he said the matter is for PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang to decide since the power to appoint commissioners is vested in the party chief.

Perak PAS commissioner Razman ZakariaIn a speech that was also posted on social media, Razman claimed that Yeoh is the daughter of YTL Corporation Berhad’s founder, Yeoh Tiong Lay.
On Jan 27, he apologised and admitted he was mistaken after the Segambut MP denied his claim.
Past defamation suits
The episode came in the wake of a PAS lawmaker Siti Mastura Muhammad depositing RM830,000 into the account of a law firm representing DAP leaders after she lost a defamation lawsuit.
Siti Mastura had alleged that DAP national chairperson Lim Guan Eng and his father, Kit Siang, were connected to Communist Party of Malaysia leader Chin Peng and that Seputeh MP Teresa Kok was related to the Lims.

Kepala Batas MP Siti Mastura MuhammadRazman is also no stranger to being on the receiving end of defamation suits.
Last December, Razman was forced to apologise to Housing and Local Government Minister Nga Kor Ming after falsely linking the latter to a procession in Teluk Intan, Perak - where delegates from China waved the Chinese national flag after Nga threatened legal action.
In 2023, he apologised to Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim in court as part of a settlement over his claim that Anwar said in a campaign speech that he would promote an LGBT agenda.
He was also ordered to pay damages to Guan Eng in 2023 and former Perak menteri besar Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin in 2017 after being found liable for defamation. - Mkini
