Penang Pas Youth Defends Razman Against Pro Dap Faction In Party
Penang PAS Youth has defended Perak PAS commissioner Razman Zakaria from what they described as internal attacks by "pro-DAP" elements within the Islamist party.
The wing's deputy chief Hafis Alias said such attacks against Razman came following the Gunung Semanggol assemblyperson's own aggressive stance towards the DAP.
"I take this opportunity to stress that my friends and I in PAS Youth stand firmly with him (Razman) in the effort to oppose the DAP," he said in a statement titled "We defend Razman from pro-DAPs in PAS".
Hafis also alluded to past clashes within factions in PAS, one said to be "pro-ulama" and the other labelled "Jebon" or purportedly pro-DAP.
“What worries me is that these voices seem to come from the same group that once secretly aligned with the pro-DAP faction and supported DAP’s agenda.
“We in Penang are very familiar with these individuals because they betrayed us when we fought against DAP in Penang.
“Even though we were in the same ruling coalition in Penang, DAP’s actions were seen as detrimental to Muslims in the state, leading to internal turmoil,” he claimed.

Youth and Sports Minister Hannah YeohOn Jan 27, Razman apologised to Youth and Sports Minister Hannah Yeoh and the YTL Group for linking the DAP leader to the Yeoh Tiong Lay's conglomerate family.
However, this was not the first time Razman made baseless remarks.
On Dec 11 last year, Razman apologised to Housing and Local Government Minister Nga Kor Ming for linking him to the incident of a Chinese flag being raised in Teluk Intan.
The apology came after Nga threatened legal action against him.
In 2023, Razman publicly apologised to Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim in court after accusing the latter of promoting a pro-LGBT agenda.
ADSHe was also ordered to pay damages to DAP chairperson Lim Guan Eng in 2023 and former Perak menteri besar Nizar Jamaluddin in 2017 after losing defamation lawsuits.
Why target Razman?
Hafis alleged the group in question is more interested in focusing on PAS leaders like Razman losing lawsuits rather than DAP’s attacks.
“In reality, Razman is facing these lawsuits alone, using his own money, without burdening anyone.
“It’s not surprising if pro-DAP media blow up the issue of him losing lawsuits because they are DAP. But isn’t it strange that our own cybertroopers are also attacking him?
“Since I know the history of this pro-DAP group from the start, I am not surprised at all.
“Therefore, my friends and I declare that we will defend Razman because we know that behind the movement to bring him down is the pro-DAP faction that has a history from our fight against ‘Jebon’ in the past,” he claimed. - Mkini
