Rally Cancellation Umno S Afraid Of Dap Says Pas

Umno’s decision to cancel the rally in support of its former president Najib Abdul Razak this Monday has become a subject of ridicule by PAS, who suggested that the Malay-centric party was afraid of DAP.
In saying this, PAS deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man claimed that Umno was only using the Yang di-Pertuan Agong’s decree yesterday as an excuse to cancel their gathering.
He said it was puzzling how Umno could arrive at the decision just hours after the jailed former prime minister reportedly expressed his gratitude to the party’s support for his court case.
“I see that Umno, as usual, would try to mask their true colour by using something else as an excuse.
“This time, they choose to use the Yang di-Pertuan Agong’s decree as an excuse to cover up their fear of DAP,” Tuan Ibrahim (above) said in a statement on Facebook.
He was responding to Umno’s decision last night to call off its rally at the Palace of Justice slated for Jan 6, when the Court of Appeal is expected to announce its decision on Najib’s case related to an alleged royal addendum ordering his jail sentence to be reduced to a house arrest.

Former prime minister Najib Abdul RazakUmno secretary-general Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki cited the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar’s decree and Inspector-General of Police Razarudin Hussain’s warning not to attend the rally as reasons behind the decision.
However, PAS, which also planned to mobilise its members and supporters to join the rally, has said they are continuing with the gathering.
Adding further, Tuan Ibrahim said PAS is going on with the rally because they want to fight for justice for all, including in Najib’s addendum case.
“But it is unfortunate that Umno in a statement said they are calling off the rally, after DAP expressed their disappointment towards Umno.
“It is very clear and proves what the rakyat had been saying, that Umno has become a loyal disciple of DAP and will follow whatever DAP says.
“If Umno wants to get rid of this perception, they should continue with the rally plan and show their solidarity with Najib, as a symbol of Umno’s loyalty to the Agong’s institution, instead of being scared of ‘batuk kecil’ DAP.” - Mkini
