Rail Experts To Inspect Kelana Jaya Lrt Line Says Dr Wee

PETALING JAYA: Rail experts from Singapore had arrived on Wednesday (Nov 9) to carry out an inspection of the Kelana Jaya LRT Line, says Dr Wee Ka Siong.
The Transport Minister said that a visit will be conducted at the Kelana Jaya LRT Line Operation Control Centre (OCC) after technical experts from Thales Group Original Equipment Manufacturer, Canada arrive on Thursday (Nov 10).
"I will visit the OCC after the Canadian team carries out an inspection at the Prasarana OCC.
"I will get more details on the problem after the experts finish their inspection and keep people informed on developments.
"We will do our best to resolve this issue as soon as possible," he said in a Facebook post on Thursday (Nov 10).
He added that as of Thursday morning during peak hour, the situation was under control in most areas such as Masjid Jamek.
He added that RapidKL would also take additional measures to help ease the situation.
"Through collaboration with Smart Selangor and Mara Liner, who have provided 20 buses under their operations each, Rapid Bus will add 40 free intermediate buses to.
"For now, Rapid Bus has a total of 83 buses to accommodate the high volume of passengers.
"The addition of more than 120 intermediate buses is to accommodate passengers on five routes as posted on Rapid KL's social media," Dr Wee said.
He also said he is closely following developments related to the closure of 16 stations on the Kelana Jaya Line.
Prasarana Malaysia Bhd has also been instructed to ensure that commuters experience a smooth journey during this period, he said.
He also thanked the people for their patience.
A total of 16 stations along the Kelana Jaya line have been closed with operations suspended from Nov 9 until 15, after a malfunction in the LRT automatic train control (ATC) system.
The LRT station affected are Kelana Jaya, Taman Bahagia, Taman Paramount, Asia Jaya, Taman Jaya, Universiti, Kerinchi, Bangsar, Abdullah Hukum, KL Sentral, Pasar Seni, Masjid Jamek, Dang Wangi, Kampung Baru, KLCC and Ampang Park.
