Rafizi Harapan In Good Stead In 80 Seats Nationwide

GE15 | PKR deputy president Rafizi Ramli expects Pakatan Harapan to win 11 seats in Kuala Lumpur, 19 in Selangor, and could possibly win 13 to 15 seats in Johor in the 15th general election (GE15) on Nov 19.
According to data obtained through surveys by his research company, Invoke Malaysia, this can happen if the sentiments among voters on nomination day yesterday persist throughout the two-week campaign, the Pandan candidate said.
If this is so, he said, the incumbent government could fall.
Speaking to about 500 in a rally at the Ampang Jaya Municipal Council field in Pandan, Selangor last night, he said Harapan is likely to successfully defend its seats in Negeri Sembilan, Selangor, and the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur.
“God willing, we will successfully defend all 10 in the Federal Territory, and if we do it right, we can win all 11 seats in the FT.
“For Selangor, we need to push a bit more… but God willing, the wave is coming to Selangor. I am not worried because we are in a good position to win 19 to 20 out of the 22 seats in the state.
“Moreover, there is a split within Umno and (Selangor BN chief) Noh Omar is crying every night,” he quipped, referring to how Noh was unceremoniously dropped from contesting in Tanjong Karang for the seventh time.
Noh OmarHe added a greater momentum is needed for Harapan to win more seats in Malacca and Johor.
His statement was received with cheers from rally-goers who raptly followed his speech, which also touched on economic issues and how to solve those problems.
‘Rembau not safe for Mat Hasan’
Elaborating further on Invoke's findings, he cautioned BN's Rembau candidate Mohamad Hasan that he is not standing on steady ground.
He said the sentiments there may not be as favourable after BN moved the incumbent, Khairy Jamaluddin, to contest in the Harapan stronghold of Sungai Buloh in Selangor.

“It looks like we are leading in Negeri Sembilan and if there is a big surprise, and if things go well, that big surprise will come from Negeri Sembilan.
“So Tok Mat, be careful. Rembau is not safe… It’s sad that Tok Mat thinks he can be secure by throwing KJ to Sungai Buloh, but in the end, he might lose in Rembau,” he said.
BN’s Rembau candidate Mohamad HasanHowever, Rafizi said more work needs to be done in Perak, a state Harapan has declared as a frontline state by placing its chairperson Anwar Ibrahim to contest in Tambun, there.
“We are expecting to win more seats in Perak, including some seats never won by Harapan before.
“God willing, the Harapan strongholds - Penang, Selangor, the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur and now, Negeri Sembilan, are safe as far as the first day of campaigning goes.
“It means we now have about 80 Parliament seats,” he said.
He also urged voters to come out in force and stressed that the election is not about grabbing power but to unite and undo damages done to the country.
“We must convince the rakyat that we have a plan, we have ideas on how to solve these issues one by one, so voters who are on the fence will change their positions,” he said.
Besides Rafizi, other Harapan candidates including Rodziah Ismail (Ampang), Fahmi Fadzil (Lembah Pantai), and Amirudin Shari (Gombak) also spoke last night.
Also in attendance was Ong Kian Ming, the incumbent for Bangi, which is now contested by DAP’s Syahredzan Johan. - Mkini
