Post Raya Exodus Sees Fuel Shortage At Some Stations

The exodus of vehicles back home after the end of the Hari Raya Aidilfitri season saw high demand for goods and supplies along the return route.
Several motorists took to Twitter to share their experiences of a lack of fuel at petrol stations due to the high demand.
At some stations, a cap was imposed for fuelling up RON95 fuel, while at other stations, only the significantly pricier RON97 fuel is available.
"Went to the first petrol pump and it was out of fuel. At the second pump, the staff only allowed a maximum of RM30.
"Many places are indeed out of fuel," a Twitter user said.
He was responding to another user who complained that petrol stations along the Besut to Kuantan route were running out of petrol.
Other users also shared that refuelling tankers were also stuck in the heavy congestion.
Meanwhile, Astro Awani reported that some 200 vehicles were stranded at a fuel station in Kampung Saujana, Setiu after running out of petrol and being unable to fuel up.
It quoted a petrol station manager as saying that the refueling tanker was delayed due to the heavy traffic.

According to the weekly pricing, RON95 is priced at RM2.05 per litre while RON97 is almost double, at RM3.94 per litre.
Along the route, users reported that ATM machines were low on cash while food outlets had limited items on their menu due to high demand.
Bernama reported heavy traffic flow on several major highways heading towards Klang Valley as people returned to the population centre from the holiday season.
