Open Your Eyes Listen To What Others Have To Say Says Hamid

(Bernama pic)KUALA LUMPUR: Former inspector-general of police Abdul Hamid Bador has offered some advice to those in power after the Enforcement Agency Integrity Commission (EAIC) brushed him off over the “dirty cops” cartel issue recently.
Without naming anyone, Hamid said, “one must live a decent life and be honest to the core.”
“Take on any task with a full sense of responsibility. Open your eyes, ask around, and listen to what others have to say,” he told FMT when asked to comment on EAIC’s most recent statement.
On Feb 22, EAIC said it was unable to determine allegations of a “dirty cops” cartel in the police force as alleged by Hamid in a press conference he held last April just before retiring.
In response, Hamid said that the EAIC chairman Sidek Hassan was not familiar with the “police system”.
“He doesn’t really know how the system works. That is so sad. A retired soul tells no lies,” he told FMT.
Malay daily Berita Harian had also reported Hamid as viewing the report by EAIC as “shallow and wrong”.
Following that, EAIC issued another statement on Feb 28 saying Hamid had lost his right to comment on the matter because he failed to submit any evidence to support his claim nor name officers allegedly involved in the so-called “cartel”.
EAIC also said that during his time as IGP, Hamid never raised the issue in meetings involving directors of Bukit Aman’s various departments.
Another daily, Utusan Malaysia, reported that Hamid refused to directly respond to the latest EAIC statement – saying that he was now focused on fish and vegetable farming. - FMT
