November 2025 Recap Part 1
Hello there, December.
This is what we call slow living. Evening sun, cozy corner, and the kids. Pure bliss.
It feels like ages since I've actually put my thoughts down. It’s wild—November just flew by. So much has happened, revolving around the three pillars of my life: me, kesayangan(s), and work. That's the trilogy that pretty much sums up everything I do.
I love the act of journaling. It's truly the best way to deal with the inevitable "mental load." I haven't had the time to truly unburden it all, so most of it gets jotted down in my phone's notes. Busy giler. Maybe I should just start updating it on socmed from now on? Pictures and all. Kalau sempat.
I genuinely love those Facebook Memory notifications. Even if I haven't updated my own status in years (maybe I'm just getting old?), those little reminders of a forgotten happy moment always manage to bring a smile.
So, here are some scattered, random thoughts from November, all triggered by a quick scroll through my photo gallery. I’m an "if I see it, I photograph it" type of person, so these snapshots are my journal entries.
📝 The November Snapshot
3/11: The Routine We Need. I bought five copies of Yassin. The goal is to establish a simple, non-negotiable family routine: reading Yassin together every Friday night. My work and time constraints mean I rarely get to eat or pray with the kids consistently. We have to carve out this space. It’s for them. It’s for us
5/11: A friend treated me to capati with delicious kari kambing for breakfast. I was so swamped that day that I didn't even get to eat lunch. It went straight into the office fridge, came home with me, and thankfully, it was still good for dinner. Sometimes, life is just about making sure you eat the good things, even if it’s hours later
7/11: Lunch Escape. Got out for lunch with a colleague at a nearby spot, SDS. I went with a chili butter pasta topped with a fish fillet. A simple pleasure
8/11: Iman's Birthday 💕
11/11: Boredom is a Choice. I read that Yahoo article: "After Selling his business for $532m, this millennial says a life of leisure was surprisingly 'boring', so he's choosing to back to work." I'm not a millionaire, but I get it. I’ve been there, done that. The myth of total leisure is often just that: a myth. We need a challenge. We need a purpose
12/11: Last month, I confess, I was spending way too much on snacks: 7/11 hauls, coffee, rock-hard bagels, and those addictive chewy fish/chicken balls. I was racking up so many points I managed to redeem a free Papa Zola figurine (it took about RM150 worth of snacks to get one!)
For lunch, I rarely go out, but this day I did. I was set on getting that chili butter pasta again, but when I got there, I changed my mind. I went with a Spaghetti Masak Lemak with crispy chicken instead. Then, a colleague shared some kedondong and bananas. It reminded me of my Ayah. It feels like it's been a while since he came by with fresh bananas
13/11: Woke up early and checked on my small garden. The kacang panjang, daun bawang, mint, ulam raja, and telang are thriving. Only one bendi survived, though. Breakfast was some leftover brownies before heading to work, where a friend blessed me with some mihun goreng taucu—a long-standing craving fulfilled. Alhamdulillah
After work, dinner was leftover fried rice with kimchi from Ajido. I need to be better about incorporating probiotics. I’ve been thinking of restarting my kombucha brewing. Honestly, I've been so easily distracted lately; my focus is shot. Is it too much screen time? Or is it simply that all the suppressed tension and stress are finally bubbling up? It feels like it
14/11: My neighborhood isn't new (okay, half-new), but seriously, our house address still isn't on Google Maps. Haih (sigh). The simple inconveniences of modern life
I'll save the rest for a Part 2. This entry got a little long
