Mujahid Refutes Amanah Created By Dap Claims Slams Pas Falsehoods
Amanah deputy president Mujahid Yusof Rawa has refuted claims that his party was created by its ally, DAP.
Addressing the matter on Facebook, the former minister emphasised that Amanah was founded to uphold Islam’s good name and image in political practice.
“I only wish to remind Kedah Menteri Besar Sanusi Md Nor not to mislead with his claim that Amanah was founded by DAP - a claim that PAS leaders have used to confuse their members with baseless, racially charged, and politically motivated narratives.
“PAS loyalists will keep repeating the false claim that Amanah is DAP due to their ignorance of facts. But today, even PAS’ so-called ‘war general’ and menteri besar have been exposed for making factless, fanatical claims,” he said today.
Mujahid’s remarks came two days after party secretary-general Faiz Fadzil called for a nationwide police report campaign against PAS over Sanusi’s allegation that Amanah was created by DAP to divide PAS.
Kedah Menteri Besar Sanusi Md NorDuring the “Himpunan Ummah Selamatkan Rakyat Malaysia” rally in Kedah on Jan 31, Sanusi, who is also Perikatan Nasional and PAS election director, was reported as saying that Amanah depends on DAP’s support.
Amanah vice-president Mahfuz Omar also previously stated that the party is considering legal action against Sanusi over the claim.
‘Amanah doesn’t slander’
While acknowledging that Amanah is a relatively small party, Mujahid stressed that it does not engage in slander or hate politics.
“Sanusi may continue belittling those who disagree with him, but the people are watching his words and actions,” he added.
Additionally, Mujahid highlighted Amanah’s contributions, including introducing the Rahmah initiative during his tenure as the religious affairs minister, an initiative that he said was mocked by PAS.
“PAS ridiculed the Gagasan Rahmah (Rahmah Initiative), slandered efforts to reform Tabung Haji (TH), and attacked various other Islamic governance initiatives.
ADS“However, PAS’ false claim that TH was sold to the Chinese was defeated in court. Their Harakah Daily newspaper’s accusation of Amanah supporting LGBT+ was proven to be slander when it had to issue an apology. These are just some of the many false accusations PAS has thrown at Amanah,” he added.
In 2022, Mujahid initiated legal action against PAS, which accused him of supporting the LGBT+ community.
In 2023, the Shah Alam High Court dismissed former PAS 14th general election candidate Ahmad Dusuki Abd Rani’s appeal against the Sessions Court’s ruling in his defamation suit involving Mujahid.
The lawsuit stemmed from Mujahid’s tweet addressing Dusuki’s February 2020 YouTube video, in which Dusuki alleged that Tabung Haji had sold its assets, including a hotel, to non-Muslims. - Mkini
