Muhyiddin Summons Pn Party Chiefs After Opposition Rejects Offer
Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin has summoned the component party chiefs of the Perikatan Nasional (PN) government for a meeting at his official residence in Putrajaya.
The meeting, which is taking place this evening, comes a day after Muhyiddin made an offer to the opposition for their support in exchange for institutional reforms.
A well-placed source, who has also been invited to the meeting, confirmed with Malaysiakini about the gathering.
"Correct, the prime minister will be meeting party chiefs. A number of senior leaders and ministers are also invited.
"I will also be attending," the source told Malaysiakini.
Separately, a Bersatu source also confirmed a meeting was happening at Seri Perdana in Putrajaya.
Some pro-Muhyiddin Umno MPs have complained that they were left in the dark about the offer.
Muhyiddin is running out of options after the opposition rejected his offer.
Yesterday, in an attempt to rebuild his collapsed majority, Muhyiddin offered various reforms in exchange for the support of opposition MPs.

His offers included equal funding for opposition MPs and reforms that have long been lobbied for by the opposition, such as a term limit for the prime minister, anti-hopping laws, and a more inclusive composition of parliamentary select committees.
Muhyiddin's majority collapsed after 15 Umno MPs withdrew support for him.
The remaining 23 Umno MPs are still supporting Muhyiddin but they are not enough for a majority.
Muhyiddin now has 100 MPs, 11 short of a simple majority. There are presently 220 MPs in the Dewan Rakyat while another two seats are vacant. - Mkini
