The perception they are creating is that Najib Tun Razak stole RM42 million of SRC International’s money and that this RM42 million was syphoned out from 1MDB.
Well, that is what the trial judge Mohd Nazlan Mohd Ghazali said in his judgement, and he even commented that Najib set up SRC as a means to steal 1MDB’s money.
There are two things very wrong with this judgement, statement, or conclusion.
First, the setting up of SRC International was not Najib’s idea. It was suggested by Maybank Investment Bank.
Second, Maybank charged 1MDB RM800,000 as its fees for managing SRC.
Yes, you heard it right. It was Maybank with Shahrol Azral Ibrahim Halmi as SRC’s CEO that was managing SRC. And 1MDB paid Maybank RM800,000 for that service.
Did Najib know that RM42 million of 1MDB’s money had been transferred to SRC? The answer is no.
Did Maybank know that RM42 million of 1MDB’s money had been transferred to SRC? The answer is yes.
Did Shahrol know that RM42 million of 1MDB’s money had been transferred to SRC? The answer is yes.
Did Nazlan Ghazali know that RM42 million of 1MDB’s money had been transferred to SRC? The answer is yes.
Did Najib know what happened to the RM42 million after that? Najib said no.
Did Maybank know what happened to the RM42 million after that? The answer is most certainly yes since they were charging 1MDB RM800,000 to manage SRC plus the money was in their bank.
Did Shahrol know what happened to the RM42 million after that? The answer is most certainly yes since he was the CEO and he was the one who moved the money.
Did Nazlan know what happened to the RM42 million after that? The answer is most certainly yes, and we shall later reveal a couple of emails to show that he was ‘in the loop’ and involved at all times.
So why did Nazlan not recuse himself since he is as guilty as Maybank and Shahrol for the SRC disaster?
Now do you know why I am not sparing Nazlan in this RM42 million fiasco?
