Malaysian Red Cross Kuala Lumpur Flood Relief Through Bantuan Tabung Bencana
Recently, we have been shocked by severe flooding in several states of this country. An estimated of 68, 341 victims and 18, 080 families had been evacuated from their homes and were placed in 396 temporary evacuation centres.
This unexpected tragedy caused victims to lose their homes, belongings, and household equipment, as well as loved ones, in the blink of an eye. Although the flood has begun to recede, the victim’s suffering continues. In the face of economic uncertainty and the ongoing threat of the Covid-19 pandemic, flood victims seems to be far away from recovery.
Due to this matter, Malaysian Red Crescent Kuala Lumpur (MRCKL) had launched a Bantuan Tabung Bencana initiative to collect post-flood donations for victims.
The donations will be used to lessen the burden of the victims in the form of household needs such as kitchen utensils, food, medical assistance, providing assistance in cleaning the affected area. Other than that, we will also provide education materials to the children in the affected areas and will supply to logistics and operating costs.
It is hoped that Bantuan Tabung Bencana initiative by MRCKL with the support of Malaysians will provide a new hope to the flood victims and supporting them to recover also helping them return to normal life.
