Malaysia Airports Assures Safety And Seamless Travel Experience At Airports

With the Malaysian government's announcement of Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) with more relaxed conditions from 10 June to 31 August, Malaysia Airports reassures all passengers that its airports are safe and well-prepared to enable the reopening of Malaysia's tourism and domestic flight routes.
In a statement published on Malaysia Airports' website, the organisation will give its fullest support to its airline partners and retailers in ensuring all safety measures are carried out vigilantly across its network of airports as well as ramping up the readiness of all airport staff in operating in the new normal of air travel

The much improved situation in Malaysia since the initial Movement Control Order (MCO) was implemented on 18 March is expected to result in a travel surge, and in anticipation of this, Malaysia Airports' Chief Executive Officer Dato' Mohd Shukrie Mohd Salleh said the airport operator is committed to give its utmost support to the airlines to resume more of their local flight offerings

He further added that Malaysia Airports wants to provide assurance to the passengers that they can travel safely and seamlessly as its airports are prepared with safety measures fully rolled out throughout the airport journey.
"Our main aim is to facilitate a safe and welcoming passenger flow for both departing and arriving guests. From focusing on strict social distancing measures to ensuring the availability of personal protection equipment, we serve to complement our airline partners’ new safety protocols as well," Dato' Mohd Shukrie Mohd Salleh said

Passengers will also be additionally protected on the health and safety aspects as they can look forward to a contactless airport experience with the implementation of facial recognition technology, contactless security screening at check-points and sneeze guard protectors at counters while Malaysia Airports' on-ground safety compliance officers patrol the terminals to ensure social distancing is practised responsibly by passengers at all times

Malaysia Airports is also working closely with its retailers not only by ensuring a sanitised environment, but also urging the full adoption of electronic payments via mobile payment apps such as Boost, Touch ‘n Go, Grab Pay, mPAY and Samsung Pay so that guests can safely shop with total peace of mind. The airport operator is also highly supportive of government’s efforts in facilitating contact tracing by enforcing the implementation of the contact tracing application ‘SELangkah’ by the Selangor state government by all airport retailers.

With the reopening of domestic tourism, Malaysia Airports reminds its passengers of the new normal and calls on all passengers to adhere to the travel procedures through all its airports:It is compulsory to wear a face mask at the airport. The face mask must be worn before entering the terminal building. Entry will not be permitted to the terminal without a face mask. If you do not have a face mask, you may purchase it from a vending machine at the terminal. You may also obtain the masks at the temporary pharmacy kiosks located at Level 5, Main Terminal Building between Door 4 and 5 at the kerbside and at the link bridges of Block B and C on Level 2 of the Short-Term Car Park in KLIA Main. As for the klia2 terminal, please purchase the mask at any of the pharmacies at gateway@klia2 shopping mall.
